Gain an understanding of global interactions between nations for a career involved in human rights, diplomacy, security, and war and peace. Political science is the study of government, public policy and the political behavior of individuals and groups. Students in the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science program with an emphasis in International Relations graduate with a broad knowledge of the foundations, history and dynamics of politics in the U.S. and around the globe. Most importantly, they understand the unique relationships between the U.S. and other countries. Students take courses in political theory, foreign affairs, socio-political issues, and ideas and methods. They're also encouraged to acquire a double major or a minor in a secondary language. Fieldwork includes opportunities to intern at nonprofit organizations and government agencies.

When music informs everything you do from who you are to what you love embark on a degree that sets you up for success in the field of music performance and advances your euphonium skills. Students earning the Bachelor of Music in Performance with an emphasis in Euphonium can take advantage of the Fred Fox School of Music's two concert bands, a select wind ensemble, two jazz bands, numerous jazz combos and a large and challenging orchestra program. In addition to these performance opportunities, students benefit from personalized attention and instruction. This includes a weekly lesson, a studio class, daily warm-ups and technique classes, plus ensemble and chamber coaching. The School of Music averages between 450 and 550 students, which provides opportunities that are typically only offered at larger schools of music.

Identify important strategies, such as green infrastructure and water harvesting, that we can employ to design innovative and sustainable landscapes. The importance of the role that landscapes play in the built environment is at the center of the Sustainable Landscapes Emphasis of the Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Built Environments program. Students learn about environmental design, planning and management challenges and how to overcome them. Students study subjects such as water harvesting, passive cooling, urban heat island mitigation, climate adaptability, and how landscapes can improve human health. They also explore urban ecology, natural resource management and environmental policy. Upon graduation, students have a deeper understanding of how landscapes play a pivotal role in a community and the ways to make them more sustainable.

Students pursuing the Bachelor of Music in Performance with an Oboe emphasis learn in a variety of settings: private lessons, weekly master classes, weekly reed labs, large ensembles, chamber music and guest-artists master classes. In addition to the Fred Fox School of Music's highly personalized instruction in a supportive learning environment, oboe students get access to the school's professional recording studio and reed workshop, where they can utilize reed-making tools, including top-quality gouging and shaping equipment. The school is home to two orchestras, two wind ensembles, the Pride of Arizona Marching Band and the University of Arizona Jazz Ensemble, among others.

The Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry uses chemistry as a tool to examine the molecular processes of life. Biochemistry is at the core of life sciences, and biochemical knowledge provides the underpinning for a variety of disciplines, from medicine to agriculture to engineering. In this program, students take coursework from award-winning faculty whose research and expertise include diverse specialties: protein structure and function, molecular genetics, medicinal biochemistry, optics, physics and more. Students hone communication and presentation skills; learn report writing, analytical thinking and research methods; and develop proficiency in mathematics and information technology. Explore the foundations of criminal justice ?thoroughly examining critical topics such as mental health law, youth in the justice system, public policy and national security. Criminal Justice Studies touches on all factors related to crime, the law and the justice system. Coursework introduces students to police, court and corrections operations; crime and public policy; juvenile justice; mental health law; white-collar crime; national security; and intelligence policies. Sponsored by the Rombach Institute on Crime, Delinquency and Corrections, this Bachelor of Science program helps students develop the ability to think critically about criminal justice issues, a necessity in an increasingly complex and politicized society. Religion has been a central force in world history, and it continues to play a powerful role in the human experience. The Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies provides students with a broad understanding of human diversity, the complexities of social and cultural systems of thought, and the human pursuit of meaning. Coursework examines the dynamic traditions of world religions, the role of religion in global politics, the relationship of religion and science, and the religious dimensions of art and culture. The Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies program asks students to choose from one of two emphases and language or culture. The two differ in the amount of language students learn. The Chinese Culture Intensive focus requires less language and provides a strong foundation in Chinese history, religion, culture and society. Students learn how to articulate the commonalities, complexity and diversity within and across Chinese culture. As the second-largest economy in the world, China is a significant player on the international stage, and a degree specializing in Chinese culture offers a wealth of professional opportunities.
