Deepen your understanding of native communities in North America. In addition to studying languages, traditions and cultures, you'll learn about current issues facing these communities today. The study of American Indians and Alaska Natives establishes an understanding of the relationship between these communities and the U.S., and it sets the groundwork for a career in public policy, government and private business. Students in the Bachelor of Arts in American Indian Studies program explore history, cultural traditions (oral histories, literature, arts) and tribal governments. Students also learn the languages and examine the critical social and political issues in these communities. This holistic approach to studying the diverse native cultures in North America helps students develop a broad-reaching perspective of these important groups. Community service-oriented internships enhance coursework.

Learn how animals, science and business work together to further industry, education, and environmental and human health. The Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences with an Animal Industry emphasis takes an interdisciplinary approach to educating students on how business and animal science pair in industries such as dairy production, food safety, research, marketing and more. Coursework includes business law and accounting and marketing principles, as well as science-based classes such as microbiology and physiology. The Animal Industry emphasis enables students to tailor the degree to their interests by allowing them five major elective courses in the following areas: Animal and Biomedical Sciences, Microbiology, Natural Resources, Agricultural & Resource Economics, and Molecular and Cellular Biology. Develop the skills and knowledge to help guide the world toward a sustainable future. Biosystems engineers help protect the health and well-being of humans, wildlife and the Earth. Students earning the Bachelor of Science in Biosystems Engineering collaborate with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and several College of Engineering degree programs. They study ways to sustainably feed an ever-growing world population, harness and preserve natural resources, and overcome environmental challenges. Students are immersed in design throughout their undergraduate experience. The future depends on biosystems engineers working in fields such as agriculture, water conservation and renewable energy.

The Animal Sciences Bachelor of Science offers an Equine emphasis. Equine science is the study of horses and their care. During this program, students acquire practical, hands-on equine handling techniques; learn about equine nutrition, physiology and anatomy; and develop business strategy skills. Additional skills honed include critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership and a basic understanding of business principles and how they apply to equine enterprises. The Bachelor of General Studies with an emphasis on Science, Technology, Health and Society teaches students how to employ math and science to find solutions to important world concerns in areas such as health, natural resources, conservation, sustainability, information science and engineering. Not only does this program encourage collaboration and creative thinking to find workable solutions, but it also gives students an understanding of the global context that surrounds science and technology. The Bachelor of Music in Performance with a Percussion emphasis is designed to develop in students the highest possible level of musicianship and competency in performance and teaching. The faculty at the Fred Fox School of Music instructs and mentors students in percussion methods, chamber percussion groups and percussion ensembles. The curriculum presents students with a relevant sequence of study of all the percussion instruments. Students acquire performance skills and experience in solo and ensemble performance; historical and stylistic understanding; mastery of technical facility; and pedagogical concepts of teaching procedure and practice.
