Make a difference in the lives of dual-language youth by majoring in Elementary Education with a bilingual endorsement. Elementary educators with a bilingual endorsement help bilingual students gain foundational footing in core subjects. In addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Education, students in the two-year program also earn an Elementary Certificate K-8 with a bilingual endorsement in English and Spanish. This credential allows them to teach in bilingual or dual-language classrooms or traditional settings. During the program, students split time between the University of Arizona and a local K-8 school. At the elementary school, they immerse themselves in Spanish and gain teaching experience with diverse language learners. Students also have the opportunity to student-teach in Mexico.

Integrate your love of art, passion for social justice and belief in the power of education to help change the world. Students in the Community and Museums emphasis of the Art and Visual Culture Education major gain theoretical knowledge along with practical experience. The course of study for the Bachelor of Fine Arts introduces students to community-based arts education, design pedagogy, civic engagement and social practice - and how those work together. Students interact with practitioners in the field through hands-on experiences, guest lectures, internships and real-life projects. Students learn to design curriculum, facilitate arts programming, fundraise and lead program management. Upon graduation, students embark on careers in arts and education organizations as program coordinators, directors, outreach managers, teaching artists, and advocates in education and social work.

Develop expert-level language proficiency in one of the largest and most influential global economies. In the Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies program, students select from one of two focuses in language or culture. The Chinese Language Intensive focus provides instruction on three levels, from beginning to advanced, plus specialized instruction in advanced reading, writing and conversation. Students learn to communicate effectively and read proficiently.  The department offers a summer study abroad program in Hangzhou, where students learn about China's dynamic Buddhist tea culture while staying in a monastery connected to the Hangzhou Buddhist Academy.

Majoring in World Literature exposes you to a variety of languages and cultures, providing a solid foundation for careers in industries locally or abroad. Students earning their Bachelor of Arts in World Literature gain advanced proficiency in at least one language other than English while cultivating cross-cultural literacy. An immersion in ancient and modern literature from a variety of regions broadens students' understanding of the human condition and the ideas and concepts that foster global connection. The B.A. in World Literature is a collaboration between the university's College of Humanities and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The major sets students up for careers in media, tourism, international business and other positions for which well-rounded, empathetic individuals are in high demand.

Gain the knowledge to impact one of the world's most pressing social and environmental problems in food. Food studies is a rapidly growing field in North America as the demand increases for experts in food-related policy, food justice and food culture. Students in this new Bachelor of Arts program (offered in collaboration with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences) prepare to become change-makers in the world's food system through an interdisciplinary approach to examining food in all its dimensions: cultural, economic, health and environmental. Tucson is an ideal setting for food studies; it recently earned the coveted honor of a UNESCO City of Gastronomy and was the first city in the U.S. to gain the designation.

Develop a nuanced understanding of how agriculture and economics intertwine and learn how to responsibly manage natural resources around the world. Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Economics and Management pick from two emphases; the Agricultural Economics emphasis focuses on the study of how to responsibly manage people, food, land, water and other natural resources to ensure the future of our planet. Students take courses in business administration and applied economics, learning about the production of food and fiber, the sale of raw materials, the marketing of agricultural products, supply chains to retail, and how agribusinesses are run. For more than 75 years, the Department of Agricultural & Resource Economics has been recognized for its stellar faculty, policy-relevant research and impressive undergraduate and graduate programs.

Communities are always in need of individuals who have expertise on how to make learning accessible for all. Graduates with a Bachelor of Science in Literacy, Learning and Leadership fill lead roles in a wide range of fields, including volunteer programming, nonprofit work, youth services, and community education and outreach. The undergraduate experience teaches students how to design traditional and digital instruction that turns complex ideas into understandable and accessible content and empowers individuals from diverse backgrounds to engage in learning outside of the traditional school setting. Students also earn academic credit and gain valuable work experience through internships at a variety of local, national and international organizations.
