Be on the forefront of advancements in the agricultural industry - from horticultural management and crop production to animal agriculture. Agriculture has evolved from hand hoes and sickles to today's tools: drones, crop sensors and drought-resistant plants. Students who select the Agricultural Technology Management emphasis of the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Technology Management and Education specialize in one of six areas: controlled environment agriculture, field crop production and management, information systems, horticulture management, turf grass management or animal agriculture. They will develop a strong foundation of technical expertise and field experience, learning how to use technology and modern techniques. Coursework focuses on skill development in areas such as lab and shop safety, applications in agricultural mechanics, operations in urban agricultural mechanization, and irrigation and turf maintenance.

Forge a deeper understanding of how aspects of race and gender discrimination overlap, and then learn ways to dismantle the systems that keep those factors in place. Gender and Women's Studies is an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts that works to contest historical, ongoing and pervasive oppression based on gender, race, sexuality, class, ability and citizenship. Students can opt for an emphasis in Chicana and Latina Studies, a course of study that works with the Gender and Women's Studies department's prestigious Southwest Institute for Research on Women (SIROW). Established in 1979, SIROW develops research-action projects of importance to women in the Southwestern U.S. and the Mexico-U.S. border regions. The Gender and Women's Studies department, founded in 1975 and led by a renowned faculty, stands at the forefront of feminist research and curriculum.

Students earning a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with an Economics and Business emphasis develop a deep theoretical knowledge of the mathematics underlying economics and finance. They will choose a related minor; options include Finance, Economics, or Personal and Family Financial Planning. Anthropology is the study of all aspects of human existence. Students in this Bachelor of Arts program learn to ask questions about essential components of the human experience, such as language, cultural development, environment and biology. Guided by respected anthropologists, students hone their ability to describe, interpret and predict human behavior, a skill applicable to industries as far-reaching as journalism and technology. Political science is the study of government, public policy and the political behavior of individuals and groups. When students embark on a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in Ideas and Methods, they focus on theoretical questions that lead to real-world change. Students explore the processes, principles and structures of government and political institutions in the U.S. and in countries around the globe. Coursework covers international relations, political theory, foreign affairs, methodology and institutions, and includes hands-on internship opportunities at nonprofit organizations and government agencies. The interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts in Italian asks students to select one of two focuses. The Italian Studies emphasis is perfect for students whose interest in Italian culture is wide ranging from art and film to history and politics. Students take courses in the Italian language, cinema, literature and culture from a world-renowned faculty, plus students are encouraged to enhance classroom work with a study abroad opportunity in Orvieto, Italy. Communities are always in need of individuals who have expertise on how to make learning accessible for all. Graduates with a Bachelor of Science in Literacy, Learning and Leadership fill lead roles in a wide range of fields, including volunteer programming, nonprofit work, youth services, and community education and outreach. The undergraduate experience teaches students how to design traditional and digital instruction that turns complex ideas into understandable and accessible content and empowers individuals from diverse backgrounds to engage in learning outside of the traditional school setting. Students pursuing the Bachelor of Music in Performance with an Oboe emphasis learn in a variety of settings: private lessons, weekly master classes, weekly reed labs, large ensembles, chamber music and guest-artists master classes. In addition to the Fred Fox School of Music's highly personalized instruction in a supportive learning environment, oboe students get access to the school's professional recording studio and reed workshop, where they can utilize reed-making tools, including top-quality gouging and shaping equipment. The school is home to two orchestras, two wind ensembles, the Pride of Arizona Marching Band and the University of Arizona Jazz Ensemble, among others.

Become a leader in historic preservation and learn about the importance of heritage conservation to preserve and create more sustainable built environments.Students in the Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Built Environments program with a Heritage Conservation Emphasis explore the value of historic structures and landscapes and the reasons for preserving and adapting them. The faculty bring a breadth of experience and depth of expertise to coursework, teaching students how the preservation and adaptation of historic structures advances environmental, cultural and economic sustainability. Students learn the processes and protocols of conservation as well as current issues in historic preservation and resource management. In the Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies program, students select from one of two focuses in language or culture. The Chinese Language Intensive focus provides instruction on three levels, from beginning to advanced, plus specialized instruction in advanced reading, writing and conversation. Students learn to communicate effectively and read proficiently.  The department offers a summer study abroad program in Hangzhou, where students learn about China's dynamic Buddhist tea culture while staying in a monastery connected to the Hangzhou Buddhist Academy.
