Urban and Regional Development is the study of economic development and sustainability of our built and natural environments. This Bachelor of Science addresses questions of urban and regional growth, location of economic activity, land development and real estate. Students learn to analyze data, use cartographic and geographic information systems and gain hands-on training in the field. Additionally, students learn interactively in remote-sensing laboratories. Upon graduation, they enter the workforce with directly applicable skills such as teamwork and collaboration; analytical research; a working knowledge of industry software; design; strategic thinking; and understanding of planning law and legislation.

Food systems is the study of the food supply chain, which includes production, processing, distribution, and consumption as well as waste. Drivers of the food system include culture, economics, policy, and marketing, and the collective impact on outcomes including human and environmental health, food insecurity, and community food security. The Nutrition and Food Systems degree is an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the complexities of the food system from production to consumption and impact on human health, as well as challenges faced by the food system to develop sustainable solutions for producing, processing, delivering, and consuming safe, culturally desirable, nutritious, and economically and environmentally sustainable food. The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is committed to training emerging leaders who will address grand challenges facing humanity, including management and preservation of precious and finite natural resources, and finding solutions to feed over 9 billion people by 2050.

Deepen your understanding of one of America's greatest music traditions and gain a level of knowledge that will carry over to your professional music practice. When students join the Bachelor of Music in Performance program with an emphasis in Jazz Studies, they learn from an internationally renowned faculty whose members enjoy accolades in both the performance and academic spheres. Coursework at the Fred Fox School of Music aims to teach students how to achieve high-quality musical expression in performance and teaching, and to understand selected music with regard to style and form, including the ability to discuss the historical relevance and placement of a piece. Students enjoy access to the school's multi-track recording studio an ideal opportunity to build recording skills and cultivate a professional portfolio.

If proficiency in both Spanish and Portuguese is important to you, consider the Spanish and Portuguese emphasis under the Spanish major. Students seeking their Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a Spanish and Portuguese emphasis take language, literature, linguistics and culture courses in both languages. The major consists of 18 credits in each language, and placement exams help determine a student's starting level. The University of Arizona is home to one of the largest Portuguese language programs in the nation, and various clubs offer students the opportunity to practice conversing in either Spanish or Portuguese outside of the classroom. In addition to several study abroad programs for Spanish-speaking students, the university offers a six-week program in Fortaleza, Brazil, for those wanting to immerse themselves in Portuguese.

The Business Management major at the University of Arizona is designed for students seeking managerial positions in large or small organizations. Students learn how to work with people in the areas of  hiring, training and coordinating. They also develop the foundation for becoming a manager of a business or organizational unit. Students seeking their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Business Management must complete the Pre-Business curriculum to earn professional admissions status to the University of Arizona's esteemed Eller College of Business Management. Business Management majors with an interest in working in sports can choose the Sports Management minor or certificate program.

Majoring in World Literature exposes you to a variety of languages and cultures, providing a solid foundation for careers in industries locally or abroad. Students earning their Bachelor of Arts in World Literature gain advanced proficiency in at least one language other than English while cultivating cross-cultural literacy. An immersion in ancient and modern literature from a variety of regions broadens students' understanding of the human condition and the ideas and concepts that foster global connection. The B.A. in World Literature is a collaboration between the university's College of Humanities and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The major sets students up for careers in media, tourism, international business and other positions for which well-rounded, empathetic individuals are in high demand.

Focus your anthropology studies on the scientific aspects of the field, specializing in data collection and analysis, fieldwork and archaeological methods. The Bachelor of Science in Anthropology with an emphasis in Archaeological Sciences introduces students to the rigorous study of archaeological data. As part of one of the top five anthropology programs in the country, students in this program take traditional science classes, such as biology, chemistry and physics, in order to build a foundation for the in-depth study of archaeological methods and theories. Specifically, it looks at how humans acquire language, the structures of language and how language influences the ways in which humans interact with and think about the world.
