Medical laboratory scientists work behind the scenes in laboratories to provide clinicians with test results needed to diagnose, treat, and manage their patients’ conditions. Blood, body fluids, and other patient specimens are analyzed using manual methods and state-of-the-art instrumentation to test for conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, infection, anemia, and leukemia.

Our mission is to prepare students to be leaders in the real estate profession and to address the significant built environment challenges of the 21st century: sustainability, gentrification, poverty, the decline of brick and mortar retail and the shifts in demographics. Students will learn to address economic, social, and ecological issues when developing commercial, industrial, institutional, mixed use and residential real estate development projects. Philadelphia provides examples and case studies for much of the curriculum, but national and international examples are also investigated.

By focusing on the quadruple bottom line of real estate development and combining environmental sustainability, social consciousness, design excellence, financial feasibility and economic viability, students gain first-hand experience how real estate development invigorates communities and shapes healthy places to live, work, and play. Using the greater Philadelphia area, as a living laboratory, students learn to approach projects at various scales, ranging from single buildings to entire districts or neighborhoods.

Students have the option of taking classes in person at our East Falls Campus in Philadelphia, or take part in an online, low residency cohort. This cohort meets in person once a semester with other MSRED students and faculty in Philadelphia or another city in the region, while fulfilling all other requirements in a live online learning environment. Students in both programs have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, tour real project sites and neighborhoods, and learn from guest speakers through lectures, conferences and seminars

The M.S. in Architecture program is an advanced post-professional, research- based degree, featuring two concentrations: Façade Design and Technology and High Performance Building. This degree prepares students for specialist and consulting positions in the broad field of the built environment in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry.

Recognizing that the architecture profession is constantly changing, the program is designed to fit current industry needs and is adaptable as requirements and expertise evolves. As a student in this program, you will have the opportunity to focus your studies on a specific area of architecture to directly apply your research to your current work or to fit your career path. The MS provides its graduates with an additional credential that enables them to pursue research and entrepreneurial practices, careers in academia or expand the knowledge of the profession. It is expected that students will have previous experience in the technical and professional aspects of building design with a degree in architecture, engineering or other related field. The typical program length is three or four semesters.

When you come to Thomas Jefferson University, you join a fashion design program that is modeled on the fashion industry and you should prepare to immerse yourself in the world of fashion. You will be transformed into a fashion design professional through hands-on experience with computerized design and production equipment while also building a strong foundation in design and technical courses.

You start collecting chemical knowledge and skills through core courses and shadowing faculty and upper-level student researchers. As a sophomore, you will start helping with authentic, real-world research projects – experience many biochemistry students don’t get until graduate programs. For students who want a competitive edge, valuable connections, and real-world experience in the evolving fashion industry, the M.S. in Global Fashion Enterprise (MSGFE) program expands the career horizons of forward-thinking professionals with diverse backgrounds in fashion design, merchandising, management, and other industries. Students benefit from a focus on global fashion development and an appreciation of apparel ecosystems throughout the value chain. Graduates of Thomas Jefferson University, which is ranked in the top 20 fashion schools in the world by Business of Fashion, and the MSGFE program possess the skills, knowledge and industry networks to bring value-added innovation to the fashion industry and to manage a thriving global fashion enterprise successfully.

Jefferson's active, collaborative approach to education in our Nexus Learning model is the foundation of this program’s curriculum. In a hands-on learning environment, students examine new fashion designs, ideas and technologies to create viable business models and market-driven innovation. In addition to the 22 core credit hours, the MSGFE program culminates in 9 credits of Global Fashion Project courses. This unique experience allows for significant customization for students to meet career aspirations. In these courses, students from disparate backgrounds work in teams to find new product or system opportunities, then design and prototype functional products or systems that answer the requirements of their research findings. Students also benefit from the projects by working directly with successful fashion and apparel companies. Regular meetings with outside project stakeholders take place to give students networking opportunities that may translate into exciting internship and employment opportunities.

The Jefferson College of Population Health (JCPH) offers a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, which is nationally accredited through the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). Students develop competencies in several key public health areas: health behavior and social sciences, biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, policy and advocacy, program planning, implementation and evaluation, and others. The interdisciplinary curriculum stresses leadership skills, systems thinking, health communication, global health, and cultural humility and competency. JCPH also offers a Graduate Certificate in Public Health, which provides students with the foundational knowledge and skills for public health practice.

Public health professionals track disease outbreaks, conduct community health assessments, plan health education programs and direct campaigns to reduce risk factors that foster chronic health conditions like heart disease and diabetes. They develop and advocate for policies, both public and private, that reduce harmful environmental exposures and that provide increased access to preventive health services for underserved populations. Many engage in public health research and support multi-cultural global health initiatives here and abroad.

Public health professionals take the lead in local, state and federal health agencies, community health centers and hospitals, non-governmental health organizations (NGOs), schools and universities, professional health agencies, health insurance companies and other related businesses.

The M.S. in Interior Architecture is a 49 or 69-credit graduate program structured to meet the needs of students from both non-design, design and architecture backgrounds seeking one of the best professional-level education in interior design/interior architecture. The program offers up to one year of advanced standing for those already in the field who are interested in refining their knowledge and skills at the graduate level. This program prepares students to reach their full potential, whether seeking an introduction or building on previous experience.

As an Interior Architecture program, we emphasize how the interior environment encompasses all parts of the interior volume and acknowledges the intersection between architecture and interiors. The curriculum integrates theory with the technical skills needed for practical application and immerses students in current technologies and sustainable practice as they work collaboratively and think critically to discover innovative solutions. Jefferson’s campus is positioned minutes from downtown, offering networking and employment opportunities within the city’s thriving architecture industry. In this program, you will study psychology alongside biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, making this an ideal first step into further studies in a variety of experimental psychology settings, neuroscience, health fields, and scientific research.

You will work closely with faculty to develop an avenue of career possibilities. First, you select a concentration option – pre-medical or graduate school – allowing you to adapt your curriculum to your career goals and interests.
