Continuing the university’s legacy of leading textile technology education, the MS in Engineering, Textile Engineering concentration develops advanced knowledge in the fields of textile science and engineering, preparing students for leading roles in the textile industry.

The program teaches cutting-edge technical textile processes to students with science or engineering backgrounds. Courses focus on fibrous material product development and characterization, and teach techniques such as fabric formation, product development, and product testing. The program familiarizes students with hands-on experience with weaving, knitting, nonwoven and composites equipment in the innovative Fashion and Textiles Futures Center on the East Falls campus.

A capstone thesis experience is required at the completion of program.

The Fashion Merchandising and Management Program at Jefferson features an immersive, career-focused curriculum that prepares students to contribute to all aspects of the fashion value chain. The Master of Science degree in Construction Management (MSCM), a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program, is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to plan and manage each phase of the construction process as applied to complex commercial, infrastructure and residential building projects. The mission of the program is to provide students with a broad practice–oriented understanding of construction technology, business, architecture, and engineering, with specific emphasis on the management of the construction process from project inception to close-out. Courses within the program are designed to prepare graduates to excel in leadership positions, with a focus on building quality projects, safely, on time, within budget, and to customer expectations.

Hands-on activities allow students to learn and excel in construction-related activities and software applications. Classes are offered in an on campus (day and evening), hybrid, and/or online version to allow students to have the flexibility of planning their schedules and continuing to work in their jobs.

The Jefferson Communication program prepares students for today’s media marketplace through a broad-based education that emphasizes storytelling, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and multimedia skills development.

The program tailors itself to the unique career goals of each student, and provides the key skills necessary to transition into new areas of communications, as the marketplace continues to change and grow.

The M.S. in Textile Technology at Jefferson offers an integrated and collaborative curriculum that blends theoretical knowledge with experiential laboratory experiences. In many courses students turn innovative ideas into original products.  It is expected that graduates of the program will pursue careers in production, product evaluation, research and development, or management in the textile and apparel related fields.

Courses focus on development, production, and characterization of fibers, yarns, fabrics, and textile based products.   The program combines theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom with hands-on experience with weaving, knitting, nonwovens, and composites production equipment in the innovative Fashion and Textiles Futures Center, as well as materials evaluation equipment in the Grundy Lab on the East Falls campus.

Industrial design (ID) is about creating the future. You’ll learn how to design things that transform the lives of people worldwide: from human-powered washing machines for developing societies, to interactive car control systems; from better backpacks for airline travel, to MP3 players made from bamboo. It all starts with the design process, a way of thinking and working to develop strategies for innovation, propose more efficient systems and services, and create valued products.

Working in an open, collaborative studio environment, you’ll learn how to make drawings and 3D models, build prototypes and share ideas with others to learn from their input. You’ll create in a sustainable and responsible way, addressing the needs of the end user, the client, and the world as a whole. Participating in global design teams will sharpen your skills through travel and research. You’ll even collaborate on real projects with leading companies like Philips, Knoll, and Umbra.

Jefferson's active, collaborative approach to education in our Nexus Learning model is the foundation of this program’s curriculum. In a hands-on learning environment, students examine new fashion designs, ideas and technologies to create viable business models and market-driven innovation. In addition to the 22 core credit hours, the MSGFE program culminates in 9 credits of Global Fashion Project courses. This unique experience allows for significant customization for students to meet career aspirations. In these courses, students from disparate backgrounds work in teams to find new product or system opportunities, then design and prototype functional products or systems that answer the requirements of their research findings. Students also benefit from the projects by working directly with successful fashion and apparel companies. Regular meetings with outside project stakeholders take place to give students networking opportunities that may translate into exciting internship and employment opportunities.

We investigate issues and institutions through the lenses of law, sociology, criminology, psychology, ethics, economics, culture, science, history, politics and political science. We build critical thinking skills and communications skills while we effectively debate. We actively examine legal systems, courts and conceptions of justice and human rights within both the American and international contexts. We examine and discover the reliable evidence while weeding through the false narratives and fake news

The M.S. in Taxation Program at Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) is geared toward practicing accountants in the fields of public, corporate, and governmental accounting as well as lawyers, financial managers and planners who need extensive information and formal study in taxation. The program prepares students for professional tax practice whether they are earning their degree, expanding their expertise on a specific topic, or taking courses to maintain their CPA license. We offer full-time and part-time options to accommodate work schedules and to allow students to earn their degrees rapidly.
