The BS in Mathematics provides a substantial background in mathematics, statistics and computer science to produce graduates who can work as mathematicians. The BA in Mathematics provides a broad grounding in different areas of mathematics, giving students the depth necessary to pursue graduate studies or other career choices like market research and business. Optional courses enable students to focus on areas of interest like pure or applied mathematics.

Students seeking to major in mathematics are first designated as “pre-mathematics majors” until they have completed both Math 1900 and Math 2000 or equivalent courses with grades of C or better.

The M. Ed. Program in Special Education explores important core knowledge in Special Education. The program's primary goal is to empower professionals as thoughtful educators who use best practices when assisting and empowering students with disabilities. Research and data-based decision-making are emphasized throughout the program. Graduate students will apply learned and evaluated research into practice in their courses, and learn to analyze multiple types of assessment data. The M.Ed. Program in Special Education consists of an initial required core of courses, a concentration area corresponding to the chosen emphasis area, and a capstone or exit course block.

When graduate students are accepted into the program, their transcripts may be reviewed, as necessary,  to identify compliance with state education certification guidelines. Students who wish to be certified in the education of children with cross-categorical disabilities will be required to fulfill general certification requirements, as well as graduate coursework. Upon completion of this advanced degree, professionals will have developed an in-depth knowledge-base related to

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the program, graduates will:

• Have technical skills requisite for artistic self-expression (Performance)
• Understand the common elements and organizational patters of music and their interaction (Musicianship Skills and Analysis)
• Have a rudimentary capacity to create original or derivative music (Composition/Improvisation)
• Have basic knowledge of music history and repertories through the present time (History and Repertory)
•  Be Able to work on musical problems by combining their capabilities in performance, aural, verbal and visual analysis; composition/improvisation; history and repertory (Synthesis)
• Develop requisite knowledge base, skill sets and the professional dispositions needed to pass initial State of Missouri Teacher Licensure Exams (MOGEA, MOCA and MEES, "Candidate Level")

The BS in Sport Management is an interdisciplinary, professional degree program that prepares students for a wide array of sport-related careers. The curriculum provides a balance between the educational-community athletics and the business aspects of sport and includes required courses in management and organizational behavior, marketing, sports psychology, sport management and administration, legal and ethical issues in sports, and educational and community athletics in addition to an internship. Degree plans can be customized via choices of electives, internships and complementary minors (e.g., athletic coaching, communication, exercise science, media studies, marketing, business and finance).

The Bachelor of Arts in International Relations is designed for students who want to change the world through careers in government service, nonprofits, business, think tanks and consulting. Students are able to select international relations and comparative politics courses that will prepare them for their specific career and academic needs. Throughout the program, students will develop skills in critical thinking, communication, quantitative analysis and cultural awareness along with deeper knowledge of cross-cultural and international phenomena. These skills will prepare students for the workforce as well as for graduate study. Students have opportunities to apply these skills through internships and study abroad.

The BA in Philosophy is designed for students with an interest in expanding their thought process. Studying philosophy makes you more open-minded: you’ll encounter the ideas of people who have lived lives very different from yours. Undergraduate philosophy majors are well prepared to generate higher scores on standardized tests (like the LSAT, GMAT and GRE) than many of their non-philosophy classmates and employers in many fields actively seek out and welcome philosophy graduates because of the diversity and proficiency of their skills. A BA in Philosophy prepares students well for careers requiring advanced study including law, medicine and academia.

The BS in Data Science and Analysis is an interdisciplinary program that is designed for students who want to develop statistical and data science skills. While data science is at the core of this program, students will also select a specialization from one of the following emphasis areas: biology, computer science, economics, mathematics, social science or supply chain analytics.

Students will learn the latest techniques including Python, R, Big Data and Data Mining. This degree will require between 36- and 51-credit hours to complete, depending on the emphasis area selected.

The BSBA, Management Emphasis degree is a 120-credit-hour program that requires at least 48-credit hours be filled with business courses, of which a minimum of 18-credit hours need to be taken in Management courses.

Throughout the program, students will be given the tools to become effective leaders, skilled communicators and savvy problem solvers. They will learn the theory and functions of management; the management of human resources; the development of strategic policies in an organization; organizational design and conflict resolution; entrepreneurship and international management. Students will be prepared to enter the workforce and succeed locally and globally across a wide range of business professions.

The BS in Actuarial Science is an interdisciplinary degree designed to provide students with solid preparation to take exams needed to begin a career as an actuary by providing students with the quantitative skills used by actuaries. Students are required to complete courses offered by the College of Arts & Sciences as well as the College of Business Administration. Students take coursework in calculus, financial mathematics, statistics, economics, econometrics, accounting and finance.

To become an actuary students must meet specific requirements of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) including: Pass the exams and requirements administered by the SOA, fulfill Validated Educational Experience (VEE) courses offered outside the SOA, and undertake additional professional training provided by the SOA.
