The BS in Psychology involves the application of foundational knowledge and skills from math and the natural sciences to the study of behavior. Students can concentrate their advanced coursework in a specific disciplinary subfield including behavioral neuroscience, child psychology, clinical psychology, or health psychology/pre-health psychology.

The BS in Sport Management is an interdisciplinary, professional degree program that prepares students for a wide array of sport-related careers. The curriculum provides a balance between the educational-community athletics and the business aspects of sport and includes required courses in management and organizational behavior, marketing, sports psychology, sport management and administration, legal and ethical issues in sports, and educational and community athletics in addition to an internship. Degree plans can be customized via choices of electives, internships and complementary minors (e.g., athletic coaching, communication, exercise science, media studies, marketing, business and finance).

The BA in Organizational Leadership is an interdisciplinary online degree completion program that provides an accelerated pathway to graduation for those who have an Associate’s degree or have completed some college courses, but have yet to complete their degree. The degree is designed to provide adult students with the knowledge, skills and credentials necessary to advance in a rapidly changing workplace and may be completed entirely online.

This program helps students understand theoretical and practical aspects of leadership across disciplines, while allowing you to focus on a specific Area of Concentration of interest or that advances your career goals.

The BS in Accounting is a 120-credit-hour program that requires 30-credit hours of core business courses, 18-credit hours of Accounting courses, 60-credit hours of non-business courses, and 12-credit hours of approved electives.

The core business courses include financial and managerial accounting, legal environment of business, information systems concepts, business analytics and statistics, financial management, management and organizational behavior and more. The required Accounting courses include financial reporting, accounting information systems, income tax and auditing.

The MA in Museums, Heritage, and Public History joins theoretical and practical study at an advanced level to prepare students for careers in museums, heritage institutions, historic sites and societies, and related organizations.  The program works closely with cultural resources in St Louis, particularly the city’s many museums and historic sites.  We focus on community engagement, the interdisciplinary and cross-cultural study of material culture, interpreting and debating the past, new media and public education, and research in archival and material collections. Our graduates work in art museums, history museums, science centers, historic house museums, and other cultural institutions across the United States and internationally.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to:

• Conduct original historical research based on disciplinary protocols
• Demonstrate competence in digital technologies utilized in the creation, presentation, and distribution of interpretive content
• Assess contemporary activities in the field of museums, heritage, and public history with reference to best practices

The St. Louis Joint Undergraduate Engineering Program combines strengths of two universities to provide a flexible engineering program for the St. Louis Community.

• First two years at UMSL for pre-engineering and general education courses.
• Transition to the Wash U campus to complete upper-level engineering courses.
• Professors are industry professionals with graduate degrees and tenured WUSTL faculty.
• Students may attend part time or full time, which allows them to take advantage of internships and co-op positions.
• The Engineering Program matches quality with affordability. The cost for engineering courses is the UMSL tuition plus a fee.

The BS in Secondary Education, with an emphasis in English, prepares students to teach in secondary school settings, grades 9-12. This program requires the selection and completion of required coursework in English and includes field and practicum experiences in high school settings, culminating in Missouri teacher certification.

This program coordinates with the Department of English. Much of the discipline-specific coursework parallels the BA degree in English; however, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) requires specific coursework for teacher certification.

The BS in Computing Technology is designed for those interested in a broad and deep computing education. It’s meant for those who want to focus more on technologies and transition to fulfilling careers, or those interested in future graduate study in an area related to computer science.

This program explores areas of computing technologies including network systems integration, software development, computer architecture design and utilization, database management and analysis. You’ll also explore the critical security aspects of computing and protection of proprietary information.
