Admission into the Education Department and additional education departmental coursework is required. This major is designed to prepare students for the teaching profession in Health and Physical Education. With the addition of approximately 37 hours of education requirements, the student will be eligible for a Nebraska Teaching Certificate.

The Bachelor of Arts with a major in Theatre Arts is the traditional liberal arts theatre degree that provides students broad-based theatre knowledge in each of the collaborative areas. It prepares students for graduate study, professional theatre careers, and may serve as preparation for law, ministry, or educational careers. It emphasizes cultural understanding, aesthetic sensitivity, and creative skill.

This BFA Acting program develops your skills as an actor through experiences in the classroom and performance laboratory.

In recent years, our BFA students have participated in an average of six productions per year. You'll draw experience from a season that includes at least one Shakespeare production, other genres ranging from Greek Tragedy to contemporary works, four musicals, and four wekeends of musical theatre cabarets per year, as well as other faculty- and student-directed productions.

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) prepares students to analyze problems and develop strategic solutions for their workplace. The MBA focuses on real-world application of business knowledge and skills. The MBA is a 36-hour program that consists of three parts: (1) general knowledge (2) required core and (3) electives selected to meet your goals. In addition, students will participate in the mentoring program designed to enhance networking opportunities.

The Bachelor of Arts degree is designed for those students who want a solid physics education with a broad liberal arts background and will be pursuing further education or employment in fields other than physics or engineering.

You’ll add experience through study abroad, language learning and service as well as through Nebraska Wesleyan’s diverse forum speakers, campus events and student groups.

Given the strong humanities emphasis within Nebraska Wesleyan’s history program, typically a degree in history is taken as a Bachelor of Arts. Students who combine history with a degree in the Social or Natural Sciences, however, usually take their degree as a Bachelor of Science.

Academically equivalent, both bachelor’s of art and bachelor’s of science will full prepare you for a career in economics. Economics is traditionally viewed as a liberal arts major and therefore students often choose the B.A. degree.

Students majoring in Health and Fitness Studies may pursue interest in such areas as personal training, strength and conditioning training, worksite wellness, health promotions, fitness centers, and graduate school. Students who want to pursue a B.F.A. degree will need to go through a B.F.A. Clearance. In order to qualify, students must complete or be currently enrolled in required art core courses (ART 1050 Art Research, ART 1300 Introduction to Drawing, and ART 2300 Intermediate Drawing) as well as one introductory art history course, and introductory (1000-level) courses in both 2-D and 3-D media. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 in all art classes at the time of the review. The B.F.A. Clearance will be held concurrently with the annual portfolio review that is required for art majors. The art department faculty will evaluate the portfolio and inform the student of its decision to allow for time to plan schedules.
