Biophysics harnesses several branches of science to explore the biological systems and the physical properties of their molecules. A degree in biophysics will prepare you to work in research institutes, medical centers, with the government or at universities.

The M.A. in Strategic Communication offers a flexible structure taught by experienced professionals in public relations, public affairs, advertising, and integrated marketing communications. The B.S. Degree in Biochemistry, an interdisciplinary program, is designed to prepare students for a career in biochemistry or graduate studies. The program combines the value of a liberal education with appropriate classroom and laboratory training in chemistry, biology, math and physics. The focus is on a molecular approach to studying living systems. The biochemistry major can choose to specialize in related areas of chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics or structural biology, pre-med, allied health sciences or biomedical sciences by a careful selection of elective courses. The emphasis in all courses is on the acquisition of a solid knowledge base combined with hands-on laboratory work using modern equipment. Each student is expected to carry out a laboratory-based research project.

The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Criminal Justice prepares students for leadership positions in criminal justice agencies; for research positions in federal, state, county, city non-profit and private research institutions; and for further study in doctoral programs. This program aims to help students develop their skills to use research to evaluate the effectiveness of programs aimed at preventing and controlling crime. Upon degree completion, graduates will have an understanding of the causes of crime, of the impact of law on society and of contemporary issues in policing, courts and corrections.

Our Master of Arts in History is tailored toward increasing competence in historical studies for preparatory or supplementary teaching, on both the high school or community college level. The M.S. in Emergency and Threat Response Management meets the pressing need to fill national, state/regional, local, and international leadership gaps that exist in emergency management and homeland security while understanding the growing necessity to build resilience within a whole community approach. Using a multi-hazard approach to the management of disasters and crises, the curriculum balances theory and practice. The curriculum covers operations management, planning and response, civil unrest, and terrorism with additional options for the study of disaster public health and executive leadership. The degree provides students with a global outlook, interpersonal skills and emergency management knowledge and skills. Students will be prepared for emergency management positions in emergency management and homeland security in government and industry.
