Our Master of Music provides intensive experiences in performance, conducting, or composition, as well as courses geared to enhance your knowledge and understanding of the literature of your area of concentration - and a greater understanding of music in general. The Area Studies major invites students to learn about one region of the world from multiple disciplinary perspectives and to gain deep knowledge of that region, skill in a world language, and cultural competence.  All Area Studies majors select one of the following regional concentrations:  Asian Studies, European Studies, or Latin American Studies.  Their coursework focuses on the culture, politics, economics, literature, language(s), and history of their chosen region.  Students also consider their area of concentration—Asia, Europe, or Latin America—within a global frame.  The Area Studies major should appeal to students who want to pursue careers in business, education, advocacy, counseling or social work, law enforcement, government, media and the arts, translation or interpretation, and other sectors.

A useful background for students interested in careers in banking and financial institutions, government agencies, and consulting, our program focuses on learning to analyze the world in terms of tradeoffs and incentives — that is, to “think like an economist.”

As an economist, you will study people, firms, governments and markets. While economics can be linked to business, it also pairs well with other fields of study such as psychology, sociology, math, law, journalism and political science.

Rowan English majors explore how meaning is made in and through language. They study a wide range of literary texts, learning to read closely, to ask sharp questions, and to write skillfully and with purpose. Rowan English majors form a unique and diverse learning community—one that celebrates intellectual curiosity, civic responsibility, and the rigors of research and critical analysis. At all levels of the curriculum, English majors engage with questions of genre, form, style, author, and audience as well as with questions of history, nation, culture, and social identity. The departmental mission is to teach and model the range of traditions and perspectives necessary for the study of literature, its history, and its contexts today.

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychological Science is a degree designed for students who are interested in pursuing research-oriented careers that may or may not require graduate level training such as experimental psychology .

Our curriculum is designed to provide our students with breadth and depth of knowledge in psychology as well as professional skills in research both inside and outside of the classroom. Along with other foundation courses, the degree requires a year-long research course sequence (i.e. Advance Research I and II) that provides students with the opportunity to conduct a human subjects research project from beginning to the end. The BS in Psychological Science major consists of 60 credits in psychology, 4 credits in Calculus, and 4 credits in Biological Science.
