Our Master of Arts in Mathematics provides an opportunity to pursue advanced study in mathematics and develop the skills to help lead you to success in today's technologically oriented society. Whether the goal involves applying mathematics to solve problems in business and industry, teaching in higher education, preparing for further graduate study in mathematics or related fields, or working in a rapidly the growing field of big data analysis as a statistician, this program enables each student to pursue a course of study that is appropriate for their interests.

To address these varying interests, we offer three concentrations: Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics.

The field of geography is one of the most exciting and dynamic disciplines at Rowan University. Far more than memorizing capital cities and place names on a map, geography is an engaging field that has a wide diversity of specializations that provide outstanding preparation for high-demand and rewarding careers in environmental management, spatial analysis and sustainability. The common themes that unite all geographers are the scientific exploration of the earth and spatial analysis. One branch of geography focuses on people (human geography) and the other branch focuses on the environment (physical geography). There are multiple sub-disciplines within the field that cover everything from geology and climatology to demography and planning.

The Liberal Studies: Humanities/Social Science major offers you the opportunity to pursue multiple areas of study in the humanities and social sciences. The major gives you the ability to combine two academic areas into one flexible and comprehensive Bachelor of Arts degree, creating a truly multidisciplinary education.

The Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology degree, through the four-field approach of cultural, physical, linguistic, and archaeology, is designed to prepare students to succeed in the 21st century and find employment in research, teaching, development, advocacy, health care among diverse populations, consumer research, community-based organizations, non-profits, and public service. Anthropology Majors will have the option of concentrating their studies in one of four subfield tracks. These are forensic anthropology, museum studies, medical anthropology, and cultural resource management and archaeology. The BA Anthropology degree will also support those students who wish to pursue further study in graduate or professional schools. By acquiring an anthropological perspective on diversity, culture, and ethnography as well as developing strong social and natural scientific research skills, students will expand their career opportunities.

American Studies challenges students to investigate the diversity of ideas and circumstances that create American society, culture and history as they develop their critical writing, reading and communication skills.

Our interdisciplinary foundation prepares students to be stronger and more productive citizens with the ability to adapt to the changing world.

A  full range of theatre and dance production opportunities complements coursework and allows students to develop performance and production skills by creating live theatre.  All students may participate in the department's annual faculty-directed mainstage and/or student productions. These projects provide students with practical experience as performers, directors, designers and technicians, and enhances skills learned in the classroom.

Concentration in Musical Theatre
Become a well-rounded theater performer, not just a voice in a chorus. Meet with a private vocal instructor every semester for intensive singing lessons to best prepare you for auditions.

Unlike traditional programs, you will develop skills in all aspects of performance and overlap with Dance, Acting, and Design/Tech majors. Learn about acting, script analysis, movement, dance, improvisation, literature and musical theater history.

The Area Studies major invites students to learn about one region of the world from multiple disciplinary perspectives and to gain deep knowledge of that region, skill in a world language, and cultural competence.  All Area Studies majors select one of the following regional concentrations:  Asian Studies, European Studies, or Latin American Studies.  Their coursework focuses on the culture, politics, economics, literature, language(s), and history of their chosen region.  Students also consider their area of concentration—Asia, Europe, or Latin America—within a global frame.  The Area Studies major should appeal to students who want to pursue careers in business, education, advocacy, counseling or social work, law enforcement, government, media and the arts, translation or interpretation, and other sectors.

The Africana Studies program at Rowan is devoted to the study of the historical and contemporary challenges, experiences, and contributions of Africans, African Americans, and people of African descent throughout the world. One of the program's greatest strengths is its unique interdisciplinary approach to global black studies that offers students an array of courses from 12 academic departments on campus. Students can major or double major in Africana Studies, or pursue a minor.

Southern New Jersey's fastest-growing demographic of minorities is a microcosm of America's increasingly diverse populations that live in majority-minority cities across the country. As the nation and the world become more diverse, it is important for universities to offer majors like Africana Studies that will help students to not only develop race literacy, but also to learn other cultural competencies needed to excel in an increasingly multicultural workplace and globalized world. In today's society, employers are looking for individuals who can thrive in a changing and dynamic environment.

Rowan University's cutting-edge Bachelor of Science in Music Industry degree program provides students with the extensive knowledge and experience they need to launch a successful career in the music business or the recording industry. Music Industry majors can choose between two specializations: Music Technology and Music Business. The Music Technology specialization offers hands-on production experience in the recording studio, while Music Business focuses on management and marketing as practiced in the music industry. Students in one specialization can take courses from the other as electives. Both specializations incorporate 12 credits from the Rohrer College of Business.

Rowan University's B.A. in Sports Communication and Media (Sports CaM) is an interdisciplinary program in the College of Communication and Creative Arts designed for students interested in the coverage, promotion, broadcasting, language, and cultural impact of contemporary sport. All majors complete Sports CaM's core courses and then choose a concentration in either communication studies, esports, journalism, public relations and advertising, or radio/TV/film production. The degree culminates with an internship in sports communication and media.
