SJSU’s Music Education program has long been recognized for its outstanding preparation of music teachers. During their studies in in either vocal or instrumental pedagogy, Music Education students also enroll in core music classes such as Music Theory, private lessons, and performance ensembles that will allow them to grow as musicians. Students in the Systems Physiology concentration prepare for professional health schools (medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, pharmacy, and so forth), for graduate study, or for research positions that require knowledge of physiological systems and especially of physiological data collection and recording. The Systems Physiology concentration provides a specialized, focused program pertaining to bodily systems.

The award-winning program prepares students for careers in feature film animation, games, television, and any other media that uses animation and storytelling as a core communication tool.

So what is Professional and Technical Writing (PTW)? Simply put, PTW is writing done in a workplace environment designed to persuade, inform, or instruct. While “professional” generally applies to business writing and “technical” generally applies to writing about technical topics, most professional writers would find the distinction superficial because they are frequently required to do both.

The BSAE curriculum is based on a strong core of mathematics, science, and engineering science and is designed to prepare students for professional careers in aerospace engineering fields, such as aircraft and space systems research, design, development, testing, and integration. It also provides excellent preparation for graduate study.

Modern laboratories, both physical and computational, support experimental work in aerodynamics, flight mechanics, dynamics, stability & control, aerospace structures, space systems engineering, aircraft design, and spacecraft design.

Opportunities exist annually to participate in national design-build-fly competitions (aircraft) under the guidance of industry experts as well as design-build-launch projects (spacecraft) under the guidance of NASA engineers. Students may join the student chapter of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the national professional society for the advancement of aerospace technology. Top students in the AE Program are invited to join our local chapter of Sigma Gamma Tau, the aerospace engineering honor society.

The department mission is to serve society, the public sector, and private industry by:

• Providing undergraduate and graduate civil engineering education that prepares students to apply engineering knowledge to the diverse issues of resources, infrastructure and the built environment;?

• Meeting the needs of working professionals for continuing education.

The goal of this concentration, offered by the Department of Physics and Astronomy, is to give the candidate a thorough grounding in physics, computer programming, and numerical methods.
