As an agricultural communicator, your career may be in mass media, advertising, public relations, sales and marketing or government.

What you’ll Study
As an agricultural communications major, you’ll take basic agriculture classes as well as chemistry and biology to ensure your understanding of agricultural issues. You’ll also take a variety of classes through the School of Communications and Journalism and the English Department, including public relations, marketing, journalism, radio, television, film, digital media and technical writing. The major requires an internship or journalism workshop.

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design is a flexible, multi-disciplinary degree. The degree content includes:

• Five core environmental design courses
• Directed electives
• Free electives

Students are encouraged to use the free electives to earn one or two minors.

Two summers of coursework are required for the environmental design workshop series. The degree is a good option for students who are interested in pursuing graduate studies in design, planning, and construction-related programs.

The department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Auburn University offers Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees in medical laboratory science, chemistry, and biochemistry. Our Bachelor of Science in economics emphasizes a broad understanding of how consumers' and producers' behavior is influenced by certain events—such as changes in interest rates or new government regulations. We offer two tracks of study. The primary track allows you to choose a minor to complement your study of economics and advance your career goals. Political science, finance, business administration, and foreign languages are common choices. The quantitative track is a specialized program designed to prepare you for graduate education in economics.

Our Department of Horticulture has been recognized nationally for its research programs, its student-centered faculty members and its high rate of employment for graduates. As a horticulture major, you’ll learn how to establish, propagate, harvest and manage fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants. You’ll also learn the principles of landscape design to create and manage aesthetically pleasing environments.

Emphasis in Nursery and Greenhouse Science
As a student in nursery and greenhouse science major option, you will learn how to manage container nurseries, field nurseries and greenhouses for the production of woody and herbaceous perennial ornamentals, annuals and florist crops.
