As a student in agricultural business and economics, you’ll fully tap into the diversity and complexity of today’s agriculture through extensive training in business, agricultural science and biology. You’ll learn how each of these fields influences our industry.

What you’ll Study
The agricultural business and economics major includes a variety of courses to prepare you to enter the many different careers available in the business and agricultural industries.

In your first two years, you’ll take business courses such as Microeconomics, Financial Accounting, Macroeconomics, Managerial Accounting and Statistics, as well as other core courses that will provide the knowledge base necessary for your advanced agricultural economics classes. As you progress through your four years, you’ll take Agricultural Finance, Agribusiness Marketing, Agricultural Law, Resource Economics, Agricultural Business Management, Agricultural Policies and Trade, Farm Management and Agricultural Prices.

A number of professional and agricultural electives are available to help you tailor your education in specific ways. Some students choose emphases in management, marketing or finance. Others choose to train in management and decision-making at the farm level, along with the technical aspects of production agriculture.

Many in our program choose to concentrate their studies around resource scarcity and environmental and rural development issues that have become critical. Public institutions that steward and safeguard our natural and human resources are primary employers in these areas.

The program, a joined offering of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, is designed to develop within its graduates a basic foundation in wireless engineering that will provide the technical proficiency needed for the professional practice of engineering in the wireless industry, the ability to communicate their ideas effectively within the technical community and the general public and an enthusiasm for lifelong scientific inquiry.

To complete the program you must:

• Choose a specialized track - wireless hardware or wireless software
• For the wireless hardware track, complete coursework including circuit analysis, communications, digital systems, electronics, electromagnetism and wireless communications and networks
• For the wireless software track, complete coursework including wireless software engineering, embedded systems, software process and quality assurance

Are you inspired by an intriguing poem or intricately woven story? Do you enjoy creating your own narratives, characters, and plot twists? Studying creative writing opens doors for you to better understand the writing around you and to improve your own creative endeavors.

Our creative writing major is an exciting learning experience that spans multiple genres. You’ll take courses that focus on the “architecture” of stories, poems, and essays; learn how each piece works; and apply those lessons to the creation of your original work. Workshops, conferences, and discussions of craft are the focal point of classroom instruction.

The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering provides a broad-based set of skills and knowledge that serves the needs of major sectors of the modern economy including manufacturing of consumer goods, the automotive industry, the energy sector, and the defense sector.

With a growing emphasis on preventative health care and interest in health, wellness and improved quality of life among consumers and employers, Auburn University's degree option in Nutrition and Wellness is designed to prepare students for successful career entry into the broad health and wellness professions. If you aspire to use your musical talent and passion in a performance career, then our Bachelor of Music degree is for you. Our performance degree is designed for you to elevate your musical skills to the highest level. You’ll receive group and individualized training and gain proficiency in critical thinking, skill development, time management, self-discipline, and focused practice. There are five concentrations within the music performance major: instrumental, piano, voice, composition and technology and commercial music.

This degree produces graduates who are able to identify, formulate, analyze and solve complex biosystems engineering problems by using appropriate tools and techniques, including independent research, and who can effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences. Graduates are prepared for employment in national laboratories, industry and universities, and are able to design, develop, regulate, research and manage the systems and technologies needed to produce, transport, store and use natural resources to meet humanity’s most fundamental needs such as safe and abundant food, clean water, fiber, and renewable sources of fuel; and bio-based life-enhancing and life-saving products.

Our English literature major engages your curiosity and imagination and provides you with tools to critically read works from different periods, genres, and authors. You’ll explore literary and cultural texts, primarily in the British and American traditions. You’ll develop the ability to construct arguments from texts, be conversant in the terms of a particular genre and the historical period, and be able to write using a critical approach.

The business analytics major offers a clear avenue to a fulfilling and financially rewarding career. The non-thesis Master of Cybersecurity Engineering positions students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to protect our nation's systems against cyber attacks. The program will provide graduates with advanced knowledge in computer and network security, digital forensics, advanced operating systems, reverse engineering, and other areas of expertise.
