Overview
The visual media option is a practice-based sequence of courses designed to develop skills applicable to narrative and documentary films, commercials, branded video, and animation. You’ll learn how to write, direct, film, edit, color grade, composite, and design sound. You’ll complete a mix of individual and collaborative projects designed to develop conceptual and technical film and media-making skills.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

The Department of Biological Science offers three majors leading to the Bachelor of Science degree (Marine Biology; Microbial, Cellular & Molecular Biology; Organismal Biology). The curricula for these majors are designed to provide students with a solid foundation in biology as well as providing the opportunity for specialization. Bachelor of Science in Applied Biotechnology
The applied biotechnology major at Auburn is an interdisciplinary program that brings together the multidisciplinary expertise of faculty from various departments within the College of Agriculture. This major will prepare you to meet the needs of today’s rapidly growing biotechnology and biomedical industries, equipping you with the specialized knowledge, skills and techniques this exciting field demands.
As a biotechnologist, you will be trained to apply advanced science and engineering to some of the world’s leading issues through alternative energy sources, safer plant- and animal-based products, management of crop damage, reduced production costs and more.
What you’ll Study
Your major’s courses will go beyond general biology to include genetics and genomics, microbiology, cell biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences and related disciplines. The Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre performance is an extension of our BA in theatre and offers studio acting, voice, and movement training with professional actors. There are also numerous opportunities to participate in a wide variety of production experiences. You’ll audition for the program in the spring of your sophomore year, and begin this rigorous course of study in the fall of your junior year. You’ll engage in scene study, text analysis, voice, speech, dialects, mask work, makeup, on-camera training, and audition workshops with professional actors and producers.

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition - Dietetics Option
The Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition/Dietetics consists of a 2-year pre-professional component and the 2-year Professional Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD). Graduates who successfully complete the Didactic Program in Dietetics are qualified to apply for a post-baccalaureate supervised-practice program (e.g., a dietetic internship), which is a requirement for eligibility to take the National Registration Examination for Dietitians and earn the RD/RDN credential.

As a student majoring in fisheries, aquaculture and aquatic sciences, you’ll receive a strong foundation in chemistry, mathematics and biology while learning how to apply these subjects to managing fresh and saltwater aquatic resources.
