The Bachelor of Social Work program will prepare you to engage in a practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. Graduates are qualified for entry-level positions in government, nonprofit, and for-profit social service agencies in fields such as schools, corrections, child welfare, hospitals, and the military to name a few. The LSU BSW program is currently in candidacy with the Council on Social Work Education. Once the program is fully accredited, students with a BSW may be eligible to enter a one-year Advanced Standing MSW program.

Secondary Education: If you want to be a history or social studies teacher, the secondary education concentration will prepare you for teaching certification.

Topics include soil science and conservation, ornamentals and grasses, urban landscape management, sustainable horticulture, and much more.

Urban Entomology: Learn about insects found in urban environments and how to manage for them.

Interior designers create functional and visually appealing indoor environments. They shape, organize, furnish, and adorn the insides of buildings to reflect our personal and cultural aspirations. Today’s interior designers do not simply decorate. They work on wide range of interiors, from residential to corporate projects, designing spaces within new buildings and finding ways to adapt and re-use existing structures. If this sounds like your idea of heaven, then interior design may be for you.

Find great adventure in anthropology at LSU. Areas of study include archaeology, cultural anthropology, folklore, physical anthropology, and anthropological linguistics. Wetland Science: Choose this concentration if you would like to specialize in wetlands, which are valued as wildlife and fish habitat, for maintaining water quality, and for economic benefits.

Learn how raw products move from farm to table, including all of the functions of agricultural business. This major will allow you to focus on management, marketing, finance, and economics, while addressing questions and concerns involving the economics and sociology of agriculture, natural resources, and rural communities.

Agribusiness Finance: Develop your knowledge of agriculture finance to pursue a career in rural development or investment practices.

Learn the math and theory behind modern-day computing, develop and hone your programming skills, and then use computers to solve problems in almost any industry. Computer science involves programming computing devices, creating information systems, engineering new products, visualizing and creating imagery, working with data infrastructure and networks, and protecting information through cybersecurity Concentrations include cloud computing and networking, computer science and a second discipline, cybersecurity, data science and analytics, and software engineering. Many graduates go on to become software engineers/developers, but other job titles include cybersecurity specialist, network designer, entrepreneur, web developer, and more.

Kinesiology is the study of human movement and the practice of helping people understand how their body performs, how to maintain proper physical health, and how to maximize their body's potential.
