In this program, you can expect to gain a wide-ranging view of world issues while focusing on a particular geographic region or areas such as global diplomacy. In international studies, you will also have opportunities to participate in study abroad programs and develop in-depth knowledge of the languages and cultures of your chosen area.

• Global Studies: The concentration in global studies is a very broad concentration covering any topics which fall across multiple regions of the world. Much of international relations, global climate concerns, third world development, world population and globalization fit under this concentration.

Learn the math and theory behind modern-day computing, develop and hone your programming skills, and then use computers to solve problems in almost any industry. Computer science involves programming computing devices, creating information systems, engineering new products, visualizing and creating imagery, working with data infrastructure and networks, and protecting information through cybersecurity Concentrations include cloud computing and networking, computer science and a second discipline, cybersecurity, data science and analytics, and software engineering. Many graduates go on to become software engineers/developers, but other job titles include cybersecurity specialist, network designer, entrepreneur, web developer, and more.

This major emphasizes a hands-on approach to understanding human behavior and offers exceptional preparation for graduate study in psychology or medical school. You can develop the skills you need in areas such as biological, clinical, cognitive, and school psychology. The department also has an extremely active honors program through which you can work with faculty mentors on meaningful research.

If you’re a natural-born “mathlete,” a degree in mathematics can lead to a career in many exciting areas, including actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, and secondary education. You can also pursue a graduate degree or professional degree in fields such as law and business.

Secondary Education
This area of concentration allows you to pursue an undergraduate degree in mathematics and earn a secondary teaching certificate at the same time though the LSU GeauxTeach Math & Science program.
