This program will provide you with the knowledge and skills to participate in the environmental community in areas such as federal and local environmental regulations, land use planning, soil and water conservation, coastal restoration, and agricultural management.

Environmental Analysis and Risk Management: Gain knowledge and practical understanding of chemistry, microbiology, land use planning, site investigation techniques, risk assessment, and federal and local environmental regulation.

Learn about the properties and composition of matter and the interactions and alterations of substances. Chemistry is at the core of most scientific disciplines, including the study of polymers, biotechnology, pollution control, and energy. There are nine available concentrations, which will allow you to narrow your focus to the career track that works best for you or help you prepare for graduate study. 

Biological Chemistry
This concentration strengthens the student’s knowledge in the chemistry and structure of living systems.

If you enjoy bringing life to a creative thought, you may find your niche in studio art. Choose a focus in two- or three-dimensional art, such as ceramics and sculpture, painting and drawing, photography, or printmaking. Become familiar with a number of art techniques and the major achievements in the history of art. Gain an understanding of contemporary thinking about art and design, and learn to make valid assessments of quality in design projects and works of art. Studio artists are creative problem solvers who enjoy experimentation, are self-disciplined, and visually aware.

Learn about nutrition and the research, development, packaging, and distribution of our food supply. At LSU, you will participate in hands-on learning, professional development, and faculty-led research to prepare for a health-related profession or career in business or agriculture.

Food Science and Technology: This curriculum follows the National Institute of Food Technologists guidelines to provide a strong basic foundation for the study of post-production properties and processing of food products.

Political Communication

Public Relations
You are interested in the role that communication plays in image building, and want to help shape  the message.

In this program, you can expect to gain a wide-ranging view of world issues while focusing on a particular geographic region or areas such as global diplomacy. In international studies, you will also have opportunities to participate in study abroad programs and develop in-depth knowledge of the languages and cultures of your chosen area.

• Middle East: The concentration in the Middle East focuses on the religion, politics, art, and literature of the Middle East and North Africa. The concentration includes the Arab world, as well as important bordering states such as Turkey and Iran. This is a region with a rich history and tradition which has been a preoccupation of recent United States foreign policy.

Learn about the design of outdoor spaces, as well as the analysis of the impact on their surroundings, at one of the highest-ranked landscape architecture undergraduate programs in the country. This broad discipline includes the design of residential and commercial landscapes, airports, highways, subdivisions, parks, plazas, and woodland and urban green spaces.
