Forest Resource Management: Prepare for the diverse challenges of managing forested landscapes for various sustainable uses. This area of concentration is specifically designed to assist you in becoming a Certified Forester.

Turn your passion into your career. Here, you will be able to take electives from multiple areas of business to craft a degree that suits your specific or varied interests within business. You will gain valuable insight and basic knowledge in key areas of accounting, economics, finance, information systems and decision sciences, management, and marketing as you build a customized curriculum that makes sense for your career goals.

The child and family studies undergraduate degree at LSU combines elements of psychology and sociology with an applied focus that prepares students for an array of human services professions across the lifespan. In addition to course work, engaging in hands-on service-learning opportunities and two field internships prepares students to improve the lives of individuals and families.

Learn how raw products move from farm to table, including all of the functions of agricultural business. This major will allow you to focus on management, marketing, finance, and economics, while addressing questions and concerns involving the economics and sociology of agriculture, natural resources, and rural communities.

International Business: Learn about general agriculture practices while focusing on agriculture and international economics.

Wildlife Habitat Conservation and Management: Learn how to manage habitats to promote wildlife. You may take one of two paths: one focuses on wetland wildlife habitat, while the other offers greater experience with forest management, including an eight-week forestry camp off campus at Lee Memorial Forest.

Study everything from the chemistry of groundwater to seismic interpretation of Earth’s subsurface. You can also enjoy a six-week field course at LSU’s field camp in the Rocky Mountains. A degree in geology from LSU will prepare you for a graduate degree program or a career in the energy or environmental industries.

Environmental Geology
Uses geological principles to solve environmental problems. This concentration provides a solid foundation in mineralogy, petrology, structural geology, and sedimentology, as well as basic courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.

Computational Mathematics
In this area of concentration, your course work will focus on the mathematics behind numerical procedures and computer algorithms. It is recommended for students interested in careers grappling with tomorrow’s large-scale numerical problems.
