Refine your critical thinking skills, gain expertise in the area of product development, and learn how to market your final product to consumers in a global marketplace. Establish a solid foundation for your career by focusing on the drivers of marketing, including the trends that cause existing and new markets to develop. You will have the chance to enroll in innovative courses such as “Marketing on the Internet” and “Sports Marketing.” Additionally, the department participates in the International Business Seminars program, allowing students to travel to Europe and learn best business practices from several firms and companies.

Professional Sales: Through course work, learn about sales fundamentals and management, then engage in either a professional sales practicum or a professional sales internship, which are designed for you to gain experience while working in sales positions guided by a sales professional practitioner and overseen by a faculty mentor.

With a field that’s as broad as life itself, the biological sciences major gives you ample exposure to help you figure out where you belong within this area of study. Upon graduation you will be well prepared for placement in graduate school; medical, dental, optometry, pharmacy, or veterinary school; and in careers that range from public health to environmental science.

Topics include soil science and conservation, ornamentals and grasses, urban landscape management, sustainable horticulture, and much more.

Turf & Landscape Management: From football fields to suburban landscapes, study the applications of turf and ornamental grass, pest identification and control, landscape design, small engine maintenance, and financial management. Also learn about the construction of landscape sites, including planting and maintaining woody and herbaceous plants and other herbaceous crops.

Computational Mathematics
