The Master of Science in Biotechnology and Chemical Science (BTCS) prepares students for work in a variety of professional settings, including the food science, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, or for academic research and graduate study. The program is appropriate for students holding a baccalaureate degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related sciences, or for those who have taken the prerequisite undergraduate courses. Chemical Science is one of three concentrations within the program.

This program has been designed to offer students the opportunity to major in both traditional and emerging financial fields. Course offerings give students a broad exposure to contemporary issues in the financial world. Courses in finance have been designed to meet the following objectives:

• Teach the concepts and skills necessary to provide funds for a business and to control, plan and evaluate the flow of funds through the enterprise
• Provide advanced education in business finance to those seeking employment in corporate finance, banking, securities exchanges and personal financial planning

As the world becomes more reliant on internet-based technologies, there is high demand for professionals trained in information security. Roosevelt’s Bachelor of Science in Cyber and Information Security program is designated a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The Master of Arts in Performing Arts Administration is designed to hone the skills of current and aspiring administrators and to cultivate the next generation of great professionals within the field. Students in this selective program will take a broad range of courses in the areas of marketing, public relations, finance, development, technology, community engagement and more. Course work is taught by current and former senior administrators of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and League of American Orchestras, among others, all of whom have firsthand knowledge and experience in the field.

The Master's of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) prepares students to help children and adults cope with difficult life events such as physical illness, death of loved ones, and relationship problems or divorce. It also shows students how to diagnose and manage serious mental illnesses and obtain resources and support. The intensive, field-based curriculum prepares every candidate to work democratically with diverse individuals and families. The program satisfies academic requirements for licensure as a professional counselor and clinical professional counselor in the State of Illinois. It also meets the academic requirements for national certification in mental health counseling (CCMHC) and for national counselor certification (NCC).

Actuarial science applies probability theory and risk management to the areas of life and health insurance, property and casualty insurance, pension plans, and other employee benefit plans. Risk analysts and actuaries, who evaluate the long-term financial impact of these plans on both the issuing company and the purchaser or beneficiary of the plan, are employed by insurance companies, consulting firms, large corporations and governmental agencies. The major in actuarial science emphasizes the mathematical theory that underlies risk evaluation.

The Bachelor of Musical Arts degree is an interdisciplinary program with intentional curricular flexibility. It is designed for the student with a strong academic background who wishes to combine the study of music with an emphasis in a second field outside music. Students' programs are individualized according to their interests and culminate in a senior project that melds their work in music with their second discipline.

A graduate degree track offered in collaboration between Roosevelt University and the Music Institute of Chicago, the Master of Music Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy is available to qualified violinists, violists, cellists and flutists. The degree combines advanced performance and academic studies with in-depth studies of Suzuki Education and development of teaching skills through observations, practicum and apprentice teaching. The Master’s in College Counseling and Student Affairs program prepares graduate students seeking to enter the workforce as college counselors and employees in student affairs in offices in higher education. The intensive, field-based MA in college counseling and student affairs curriculum includes particular emphasis on preparing students for positions that serve university and community college students on urban campuses with diverse student populations.
