Medical technologists perform a variety of tests on blood, tissues and body fluids using the techniques of hematology, microbiology, immunohematology, clinical chemistry and urinalysis. They work in conjunction with pathologists, physicians, or scientists in hospital laboratories. This is a 3+1 program in which the first three years of course work are completed at Roosevelt University with the final year completed at the clinical affiliate site.

Prepare for your life as a writer in Chicago’s thriving literary community. MFA students complete a book-length manuscript of publishable quality and receive intensive faculty mentorship and support throughout the process. Students develop a specialty and sub-specialty in fiction and nonfiction (or vice versa) and work in any prose tradition, including the novel and long-form nonfiction. While all our students are distinguished by the quality of their writing and their dedication to craft, some of them arrive on campus knowing exactly what they plan to work on, while others take advantage of the room to explore. Our curriculum allows students to thrive in either approach.

A major in history is one of the most flexible liberal arts degrees you can obtain. In addition to history, you’ll learn critical reading, writing and thinking skills that prepare you for any position requiring research, writing and analysis. You will learn to examine historical forces, people and events from multiple perspectives and with global awareness, all while honing your communication skills.

The first sustainability bachelor’s degree in the Chicago area, this program prepares graduates to tackle the sustainability problems of the 21st century. Using insights and analytic methods from science, policy, and environmental justice, students explore natural and social ecosystems, recognize national and international implications of sustainability issues, and apply their knowledge on behalf of campus and community projects.

At Roosevelt economics goes beyond the curriculum that is currently being taught at universities around the world. It presents and challenges students with radically different economic perspectives and alternative schools of thought. Roosevelt is one of the few universities in the United States where students can study economics from green, institutionalist, Post Keynesian, anarchistic, rhetorical, Marxist and other points of view, while gaining technical proficiency in conventional Neoclassical and Keynesian methods. Our faculty are drawn to the study of economics by a commitment to social justice. Economics students are prepared to be socially conscious citizens and leaders in their professions, whether in business, public service, research, teaching or other careers.

The Master of Arts degree in General Psychology is a fully online program, providing broad-based training in applied psychology, research, and intervention. This program is designed for current professionals employed in fields such as social work, counseling, nursing, or business and who wish to broaden their areas of expertise. Students seeking preparation for doctoral studies will also benefit from this program. Roosevelt's program can be completed in one calendar year. 

At Roosevelt, our graphic design classes will provide the skills needed to create visual concepts and to communicate ideas by using cutting-edge software to prepare you for the industry’s competitive environment. Web, video, print, photography and digital animation are all covered through our graphic arts courses. Students will be equipped with the knowledge necessary for effective visual presentation of verbal, photographic and graphic information. Those in Roosevelt's graphic design programs will also learn to communicate visually and verbally by using an aesthetic perspective, which is developed through the study of design history and theory.

Students who earn their Bachelor of Arts Degree in Exercise, Nutrition and Health Science are provided the health education needed to become future leaders in the sport, exercise and nutrition industry.

The BA in Music and Computing is an interdisciplinary degree that provides students with the specific tools and methods to study both music composition and computer programming. The goal of this program is for students to create and explore music software, music authoring systems, algorithmic composition, video game music and similar projects.

This is a joint degree where students take approximately equal credit hours from each discipline (Music Composition and Computer Science), in addition to general studies.
