Event planning is a highly complex and dynamic field that comes with many challenges and opportunities. The BS in Event Management program provides you with the theoretical and practical tools needed to lead the future of the event industry. Our program provides you with a toolbox of resources, best practices and other skills needed to succeed.

Your courses will cover a broad set of skills that prepare you to manage small to large-scale events — from inception to implementation. Explore topics such as event management, including risk management, marketing, finance and logistics while utilizing the newest technologies and emerging industry trends. Plus, you’ll gain greater insight into a wide range of events like fairs, festivals, entertainment and sporting events, meetings and tradeshows. As you progress through your studies, you’ll be ready to break into this fast-paced and rewarding industry from day one.

As an English major at UCF, explore the power of language. Your coursework will cover critical thought, expression through writing, and knowledge of cultural and literary trends from a number of different perspectives. These perspectives include scholarship, creating original texts, and communication about and through technology.

You’ll have the opportunity to align your studies with your personal and professional goals. Choose from three tracks, including creative writing, literature and technical communication. After graduation, pursue a career in fields such as law, editing and publishing, teaching, corporate and not-for-profit management, consulting and information technology. This degree also prepares you to continue your studies in graduate school, whether you choose to continue English or another discipline.

Literature Track
Develop the ability to read discerningly, think critically and write clearly. This track encompasses the study of literature in its historical, cultural and theoretical contexts. You’ll learn about the ways of people and society, as well as develop a lifelong pleasure to be found in this art form.

The Bachelor of Arts Degree is designed to offer a thorough foundation in theatre while providing flexibility and opportunity for interdisciplinary study with a required minor. The strength of this program is in the opportunity to combine theatre training with the secondary area of study to create career opportunities in theatre and the entertainment industry. Students find direct career paths and a boost in the job market through the combination of major and minor. Students are open to selecting any minor or second major offered within the University. Upon graduation, students choose to enter the job market or pursue advanced education with a skill set unique to their goals.

The B.S. in Mechanical Engineering program helps you gain an understanding of core concepts such as mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis and electricity. You’ll pair these core principles with tools like computer-aided design software to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, cars, aircraft, robotics, medical devices and much more.

Throughout your coursework, you’ll get hands-on experience in applying the principles of engineering, science and mathematics to model, analyze, design and realize physical systems, components and processes. The Bachelor of Science in Photonic Science and Engineering degree is designed to prepare the next generation of engineers for the growing optics and photonics industry, which has a broad set of applications including manufacturing, healthcare, telecommunication, defense, security, and entertainment. The program draws on UCF's internationally recognized strengths in the field of optics and lasers and is matched to the strong photonics industry in Central Florida. The degree is offered jointly by the College of Optics and Photonics and the College of Engineering & Computer Science.
