The B.S. in Mechanical Engineering program helps you gain an understanding of core concepts such as mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis and electricity. The BS in Health Informatics and Information Management (HIIM) prepares you to care for patients by ensuring that medical data is high quality and kept secure. The field provides a link between clinicians, administrators, technology designers, operations, and information technology professionals. You’ll present health information in a meaningful manner and are experts in managing, interpreting, analyzing, auditing, coding and converting health data into statistical information that everyone can use. The work you do will help improve patient outcomes.

Throughout your courses, learn about medicine, management, finance, information technology and law. In addition to medical coding skills, gain an understanding of how to use data analytics to interpret a variety of healthcare scenarios that may be encountered in the workplace. You’ll also have opportunities to interact with industry professionals through workshops and conferences. The Sociology degree, which may be completed online, face-to-face, or as a mix of online and face-to-face courses, has two major goals: 1) to promote undergraduate student excellence and 2) to advance career success for graduates by providing them with tangible, career-oriented skills. The Marine and Aquatic Biology Track provides students with the opportunity to focus on the study of living organisms in freshwater, coastal, and oceanic environments. This track is designed to give students a strong foundation in basic biological principles with a special focus on organisms that live in aquatic environments.  Students who successfully complete the Marine and Aquatic Biology Track will be well-versed in the issues of marine and/or aquatic ecosystems with an emphasis on conservation, restoration, and biological diversity. The track also allows opportunities for study abroad and independent research working with professors and their graduate students in both laboratory and field settings. Rigorous coursework and research experiences gained through this track will provide students with a competitive advantage in their graduate school applications.  This track can also help students seeking immediate employment with local, state and federal agencies or private companies and non-profit organizations specializing in resource management, fisheries, marine conservation, coastal restoration and aquarium husbandry.

The mission of the UCF Department of Mathematics is to offer the opportunity for excellence and development to students with visionary and relevant programs of high quality at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to advance mathematical research to benefit society. To accomplish this mission the faculty and the staff of the department have set high goals. The department aims to provide the best undergraduate mathematics program in the state of Florida. Religion and Cultural Studies is a B.A. program designed to familiarize students with religious traditions around the world, from ancient through contemporary cultures, as well as to introduce students to critical theories and methods through which to view and analyze the category of religion and its associated concepts, practices, and meanings in all areas of life. The program emphasizes the academic study of religion and does not privilege any particular tradition or belief.

The Bachelor of Integrative General Studies offers a flexible and self-designed curriculum to degree-seeking students. The program allows students to draw on their multidisciplinary course work to refine and demonstrate their attainment of six learning outcomes that are in high demand.
