Our major combines a biomedical science-focused curriculum, a local or international medical experience, and a self-designed plan of study to include a minor or other courses of interest that prepare our graduates for entry into professional schools.

As a UD Dietetics major, you'll thrive in an environment where hands-on learning, professionalism, leadership, and evidence-based practice are at the forefront. Students are mentored and taught by faculty who are registered and licensed dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) to support your growth and development, both in and out of the classroom.

The University of Dayton School of Engineering chemical engineering program is one of only a few universities in the nation involved in the modeling, control and automation of composite processing.

You'll develop scholarship, research and lab skills and excel in professional or continued graduate work. Our extensive course selection includes chemical, bio-sensors, chemical reactor analysis, and combustion as well as advanced work in nanomaterials and fuel cells. As a UD Middle Childhood Education/Intervention Specialist major, you'll learn the knowledge and skills necessary to educate and support children in their transition from childhood to early adolescence. You'll specialize in two areas of concentration, choosing from mathematics, reading/language arts, science, and social studies. You'll also earn a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) certificate. A STEM lab and Curriculum Materials Center are among the numerous resources available to students.

The psychology major at the University of Dayton will prepare you to apply scientific reasoning to the understanding of human behavior, teaching you the knowledge and methods required to explain, predict and shape behavior. The psychology major skillset is not just for those who are interested in working within the field of psychology. It is invaluable to anyone who wants to work in a field that benefits from excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to interpret data and solve problems of relevance to human behavior.

Our students study Chaucer and Shakespeare, Jane Austen and Toni Morrison, Claudia Rankine and Kendrick Lamar. Our students look to the deep meanings that great writing reveals about human life, human community and our shared, common home. Our students love to read and become master readers – they leverage that mastery in their professional lives.

As a student in the Interdisciplinary Educational Studies program at the University of Dayton, you’ll have the flexibility to chart your own path to success and design a program to meet your diverse professional goals.

Candidates must select concentration coursework from both the School of Education and Health Sciences and at least one department outside SEHS.

A fine arts degree provides an intensive, professional exploration of fine art media. Students develop a portfolio and career plan through an emphasis in ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking or sculpture.

We work closely with alumni and private business leaders to supply ongoing research opportunities, such as with fluid mechanics or the mechanical behavior of materials. Altogether, the engineering mechanics program prepares you to solve problems and improve outcomes in your area of expertise.

As a member of the Discover Engineering program at the University of Dayton, you will explore the academic programs in the School of Engineering before finalizing your major. With the help of a semester-long seminar and the assistance of your Student Success adviser, you'll discover the area of engineering that's right for you while staying on track academically. The seminar covers the curriculum and careers of each engineering program (chemical, civil, computer, electrical and mechanical), as well as the multitude of complementary minors, concentrations and programs.

Once you decide on your engineering academic program, students admitted as Discover Engineering are guaranteed to move into any engineering program and students admitted as Discover Engineering Technology are guaranteed to move into any engineering technology program.  If you'd like to move between the engineering and engineering technology programs, you can coordinate with your Student Success adviser on the process to do so!
