The Bachelor of Music curriculum prepares students to become professional musicians or vocalists, to teach music at the K-12 levels, or for graduate or professional school. Students select a concentration in instrumental, keyboard, or vocal training.

The B.M. in music is offered for students seeking a university education that includes preparation for careers in music teaching or performance. The B.M. degree is available in the following emphases: music performance and music education.

The B.M. in music with emphasis in music education prepares students for certification in the following fields: instrumental (band or orchestra; students may choose any woodwind, brass, string, or percussion instrument as the principal instrument); vocal/choral music; keyboard. Separate course requirements are given as three concentrations: instrumental, vocal, or keyboard as principal instrument.

A B.A. in biological science can prepare a student for a variety of careers or for graduate work in many fields, including organismal biology, medicine, education, cell or molecular biology, ecology, and conservation biology.

The M.S.W. is a professional degree that prepares students to work with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities in clinical settings. Students pursue either a regular track or advanced standing track, depending on their education.

Curricula of the School of Business Administration are designed both for those who plan to operate their own businesses and for those who plan to occupy responsible positions in business organizations. This unique program is designed to educate students as information system professionals. Students are provided with knowledge involving information systems technology, information concepts and processes, and organizational functions and management.

In our MIS program, you will gain the skills to create desktop and mobile applications, web pages, and databases with state-of-the-art technology. Our alumni work for industry-leading companies such as FedEx, Microsoft, and Yahoo!

What Will You Learn?

Our students will learn to write the code and master the software that businesses need to succeed. You will delve into Visual Basic and C# using Visual Studio, in addition to UML, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server.

The M.S. in biological science prepares a student for various academic, industry, or government professional positions that involve freshwater biology, medicine, education, molecular genetics, ecology and conservation biology.

Art history majors at the University of Mississippi learn about monuments, artists and artistic periods. Students learn art studio fundamentals, understand art theory and criticism, conduct research, and discern the hidden/not-so-hidden ideas behind works of art.
