The Master of Taxation & Data Analytics program offers specialization in both taxation and data analytics. Students in this program are given many opportunities to gain hands-on experience in data analytics and the latest relevant technologies. The program includes five accountancy and taxation courses, three data analytics courses, one taxation elective, and one accountancy elective.

The Master of Music is an advanced professional degree designed to develop a particular area in music to a high level of specialization. The university offers the M.M. with the following emphases:

• Performance in woodwind, brass, string, or percussion instruments, piano, and voice;
• Music education;
• Choral conducting;
• Musicology;
• Music theory;
• Ethnomusicology;
• Collaborative piano.

Emphasis - Choral Conducting
The M.M. degree with an emphasis in choral conducting is designed to give the student advanced training in choral conducting and score study and/or prepares him/her for study at the doctoral level.

The B.S. in chemical engineering provides the student with a fundamental knowledge of chemical engineering science and prepares graduates for a variety of careers in industry and government, or for advanced study in engineering, business, or professional school.

With a chemical engineering degree, you will be ready to pursue careers in manufacturing, petrochemicals, oil and gas, biotechnology, the environmental field and more. Your degree can also pave the way to top graduate programs in medicine, business, law and advanced engineering fields.

You can choose the standard track, the pre-med track or one of the following emphases:

• Biotechnology – this includes the study and use of biological processes to make advancements in fields as diverse as drugs, agriculture and food.
• Environmental – this will give you the foundation to work in environmental areas, such as waste and pollution reduction.
• Manufacturing – you’ll learn the skills to improve processes and productivity in advanced manufacturing environments.
• Materials – you’ll delve into the world of advanced materials – such as polymers and nanomaterials (no hyphen in nanomaterials) – that can handle extreme conditions.

The M.S. in engineering science is offered in a number of emphasis areas: aeroacoustics, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computational hydroscience, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, electromagnetics, environmental engineering, geology, geological engineering, hydrology, mechanical engineering, material science and engineering, and telecommunications.

Emphasis - Chemical Engineering
A degree of M.S. in engineering science with an emphasis in chemical engineering prepares graduates to apply chemical engineering science (transport phenomena, thermodynamics, chemical reaction engineering, and applied mathematics. It enables them to independently execute complex projects and pursue successful careers in engineering, medicine, law, professional education, public policy, the military, management, and sales.

The B.B.A. in Economics is for students who wish to enter the corporate world directly upon graduation. Students use mathematical and statistical models to analyze issues such as tax structure, deregulation, public welfare spending, mergers, acquisitions, and employee compensation programs.

With a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, you will be ready to enter the corporate world or government right after graduation. Not only will you emerge with an understanding of the field itself, you’ll gain skills in statistics, mathematics, organization, research methodology, and verbal and written communication.

What will you learn?
Economics is an amazing social science, providing insight for business, public policy and human behavior in general. It underlies successful business practices and effective government policy.

You will study how markets work to determine what is produced, how it’s produced, and how income is distributed. You’ll delve into the role and impact of international trade, the effect of monopoly on the economy, and the problems of unemployment and inflation.

The M.A. degree provides students with an intensive study of the different fields, theories, and research methods in contemporary political science. The degree prepares students for doctoral study in political science, and for careers in education, government, or policy analysis. Two options are offered: One, which requires a written thesis, is for students primarily interested in political science research; the other, which replaces the thesis with a written comprehensive examination, is for students who are more concerned with the practical application of their political science expertise.

The B.S. degree in physics is recommended for students wishing to go to graduate school in physics. It also prepares a student for teaching physics, for graduate or professional schools, such as law school or education school, and for jobs in technical fields. Students interested in teaching high school physics may need a secondary education certification along with the degree.

The B.A. in psychology prepares students for careers in which a fuller understanding of human behavior is needed or to enter graduate programs in psychology and professional schools such as law and medicine. Students learn the scientific approach to the study of human and animal behavior, and can take courses in a variety of subfields, such as social, cognitive, personality, abnormal, developmental, and behavioral neuroscience. Students also learn the research process: experimental design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

Psychology majors at the University of Mississippi learn the scientific approach to the study of human and animal behavior, and can take courses in a variety of subfields, such as social, cognitive, personality, abnormal, developmental, and behavioral neuroscience. They also learn the research process: experimental design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

Linguistics majors at the University of Mississippi learn the layers of intertwined systems of language (sound, meaning, organization and context) and study phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. They explore the relationship between language and social factors such as region, ethnicity, gender, and identity; and how language is acquired and changes over time.

The study of linguistics, often referred to as the "science of language," provides students with an understanding of the sound systems, words, and sentence structures of language, both individually and comparatively.
