The B.A. in biochemistry is designed for students who intend to pursue a career in medicine, dentistry, or other health-related fields. The curriculum associated with this degree program closely follows the recommendations of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), and it prepares students to take the MCAT and DAT.

The M.S. in engineering science is offered in a number of emphasis areas: aeroacoustics, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computational hydroscience, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, electromagnetics, environmental engineering, geology, geological engineering, hydrology, mechanical engineering, material science and engineering, and telecommunications.

The child nutrition emphasis is designed for students seeking a career in child nutrition.

The B.S. degree in physics is recommended for students wishing to go to graduate school in physics. It also prepares a student for teaching physics, for graduate or professional schools, such as law school or education school, and for jobs in technical fields. Students interested in teaching high school physics may need a secondary education certification along with the degree.

The M.A. in mathematics is designed (1) to prepare students for the teaching of mathematics, particularly in high schools and community colleges, (2) to prepare students for nonteaching professions or vocations, such as civil service, actuarial work, or statistical work, in which mathematics plays a principal part, or (3) for students who wish to supplement study in other fields with suitable courses in mathematics.

Economics is the study of the allocation of resources. Using mathematical and statistical models, economists consider how resources such as labor, land, money, and technology are distributed.  Economics majors gain a broad understanding of the field of economics as well as skills in statistics, mathematics, organization, research methodology, and verbal and written communication.

Economics provides a broad and systematic way of thinking about social, financial, and business problems. The B.A. in economics prepares a graduate for many positions in business and government. Some positions are economic analyst, statistician, and research assistant.

The Bachelor of Social Work at Ole Miss prepares students to integrate the knowledge, values and skills of the social work profession for competent practice in settings with individuals, families, groups, organizations, institutions and communities.

The B.S.W. degree prepares students to work as generalist social workers in a variety of settings with individuals, families, groups, communities, or organizations.

The objective of the M.Tax. is to provide students with a greater breadth and depth in accounting education and a specialization in the tax area.
