Operations and supply chain explores the analytical use of information in business management, and is distinguished by the opportunity for students to receive Lean Six Sigma green-belt certification.

The Operations and Supply Chain program at the Darla Moore School of Business pairs a robust classroom environment and real-world, experiential learning to provide students with the skills to systematically analyze data and improve business processes.

What makes our program stand out from the rest is the opportunity for our students to get the actual Lean Six Sigma green-belt certification from the industry through a rigorous coverage of Lean Six Sigma approach to supply chain and operations management, a formal written green-belt exam from Sonoco (a $4 billion global manufacturing company based in Hartsville, S.C.) and completion of a major certified project in one of our center partner firms to meet the project requirement for green-belt certification. There is no other program that provides such a rich opportunity in Lean Six Sigma certification from industry to its undergraduate students in business.

Whether you're interested in filmmaking, game design, animation, internet art, manga, mobile media or worlds beyond, a degree in media arts at South Carolina will prepare you to be a creator in tomorrow's media landscape. As a mechanical engineering major, you will have the opportunity to work with a professor in research on some of today’s most notable engineering challenges. You will develop skills that will give you the ability to solve many of today’s world problems. Mechanical engineering majors will choose a concentration from design and manufacturing, engineering materials, mechanics of solids, thermal and fluid systems, and nuclear engineering.

The Department of Marketing at the Moore School is widely acclaimed for its scholarly expertise in various facets of consumer psychology, marketing strategy, research methods, behavioral pricing and marketing communications. It offers an undergraduate concentration in marketing as well as two Ph.D. concentrations — consumer behavior and marketing analysis.

The Department of Marketing offers an undergraduate marketing major focusing on the process of planning and executing the development, pricing, distributions and promotion of services, products and ideas. The marketing major also covers the study of economic, cultural, demographic and attitudinal factors that influence demand for products and services.

The information science major focuses on effectively collecting, storing, managing, preserving and using information to benefit businesses and nonprofits. Information science brings together technology, information and users to achieve strategic goals of organizations and ultimately improve society.

As an information science major, you will acquire skills needed for managing the life-cycle of information while connecting users to essential information. Information science students develop strong technical skills connecting diverse communities with means to navigate and succeed in today’s complex information world. Information scientists are essential professionals across nearly every industry, from banking to government to medicine.

Our criminal justice program promotes state-of-the-art research and instruction in subject areas that are crucial to the effective and orderly working of modern society.

You will learn theories of and responses to social deviance, law and the legal system, administration theory and evaluation, law enforcement, juvenile justice systems and procedures, and crime prevention models. You will also be able to attend numerous conferences and lectures to broaden your professional perspective.

As a criminal justice major, you will also have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on internship experience that will add to your educational experience. You can gain additional experience by participating in the Campus Patrol Office program, which offers students who qualify an opportunity to gain hands-on experience as an employee of the University of South Carolina Division of Law Enforcement and Safety. The Arnold School offers two undergraduate degree programs in public health. While both programs share similar core requirements, the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree places more emphasis on social and behavioral sciences for entry into social science-based graduate programs such as law school.
