The Master of Science (MS) degree in Exercise Science prepares students for careers in academia and multiple health-related specialties and professions within the broad scope of Exercise Physiology, such as exercise physiologist, fitness coordinator, rehabilitation coordinator, and many more. Elective coursework can tailor your studies to your unique interests; for example, skeletal muscle physiology, endocrinology in exercise and health, neural repair and rehabilitation, and community-based interventions for physical activity.

Economics majors in the College of Arts and Sciences may earn the B.S. by completing the 24-hour major requirement along with the college core, distribution requirements and cultural-awareness and writing-emphasis requirements as described in the basic degree requirements in liberal arts.

Walk down the street in any city, and you'll see them. Go into any art gallery, and they are there. We bet there's even a screen in your pocket right now. Someone has to decide what those screens look like ... what they mean. Someone has to make them relevant. Someone needs to make them beautiful.

Whether you're interested in filmmaking, game design, animation, internet art, manga, mobile media or worlds beyond, a degree in media arts at South Carolina will prepare you to be a creator in tomorrow's media landscape. The University of South Carolina School of Music has established a national reputation for artistic and scholarly excellence. One of the school's newest offerings is a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in musical theatre, designed specifically for students interested in pursuing an outstanding liberal arts music degree with a specific focus on musical theatre.

Music students at South Carolina develop close working relationships with dedicated, world-class faculty members and have opportunities for collaborative learning and performing, in-depth research and travel.

At the School of Music, students benefit from our rich musical resources, including two advanced computer music studios, our extensive music library collection and our state-of-the-art recording studio. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the diverse resources throughout the university and to collaborate with artists in other fields.

As part of the process of building well-informed, flexible artists for the ever-changing industry, the musical theatre concentration immerses students in multiple performance opportunities each semester, involving both cutting-edge contemporary and classic genres of musical theatre. In lieu of a cognate or minor, students will complete 18 credit hours of dance and theatre courses, as well as Musical Theatre Workshop each semester. Students will participate in exciting offerings each year, including guest master classes with musical theatre professionals, collaborations with organizations and fully staged showcase performances each semester.

Internationally recognized research projects and first-class instruction are the hallmarks of the biological sciences department.

You will develop a broad base of skills in chemistry, plant and animal science, cellular and molecular biology, ecology and evolution. You will experience lecture-style courses with supplemental laboratories to gain additional hands-on experience. You can also elect to get involved in field research and field classes.

In addition to the challenging standard curriculum, biological sciences majors have the opportunity to be exposed to an unusually strong core of marine sciences.

The bachelor's in music is designed for students who want to major in music while receiving a broad, liberal arts education. B.A. students will select a cognate (12 credits) or minor area (18 credits) outside the School of Music to prepare for a variety of careers that may be interdisciplinary in nature.

Students must satisfy all general education requirements as specified in the chosen degree. These requirements are designed to give students broad experience in liberal arts and sciences and opportunities to develop intellectual skills in analysis and evaluation, as well as competence in written and oral communication. 

As a visual communications major, you will use the latest technology in a series of courses that emphasize multimedia production and writing. Later, you can apply your knowledge in an internship with an ad agency, public relations firm, newspaper or magazine, hone your skills and gain valuable hands-on experience in your visual communications specialty. As a senior, you will complete a capstone experience in which you will prepare a multimedia portfolio that will allow you to shine in a competitive job market.

Students have the option to earn their master's degree in hospitality and tourism management on campus or via distance learning and at their own pace. Synchronous distance delivery using Adobe Connect provides remote students with an engaging, interactive classroom experience where they learn in real time with on-campus classmates and professors. Additional asynchronous course options give students the flexibility to complete courses online and at their convenience.
