The art history program offers courses in ancient, medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, 18th-century, modern, American and Asian art, as well as architecture and film and photo history. General survey and special topics courses are offered every semester. Our faculty consists of dedicated teachers who are also nationally and internationally recognized scholars.

Through classroom instruction and additional research and internship opportunities students develop skills in visual analysis, historical understanding, critical thinking, research and writing, and intellectual and practical problem solving.

Whether you pursue a career in a hotel, restaurant, resort or private club, you will be well prepared with the fundamentals of business: accounting, economics, business law, communications and computer applications.

All hospitality management majors receive a similar range of operational and management instruction. The combination of two mandatory internship experiences and exciting electives will allow you to tailor your learning to a specific setting. In your courses, you will develop important skills including analytical, communication, organization, time management, human resource management, service management and technology skills.

The management department offers a B.S. in management with a concentration in entrepreneurship as well as a broad range of courses in areas ranging from strategic management to business communications. Students are exposed to a unique blend of classroom and applied experiential learning opportunities to prepare them for work in the modern economy. We also offer a wide range of both required and elective courses in areas such as entrepreneurship, leadership, consulting and organizational development, human resources, talent analytics and strategic management.

As a public health major, you will develop the specialized knowledge and skills needed to address current and emerging public health issues. You will learn to demonstrate proficient reasoning and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to analyze, synthesize and evaluate information to make sound decisions and solve problems as they apply to public health.

Our criminal justice program promotes state-of-the-art research and instruction in subject areas that are crucial to the effective and orderly working of modern society.

You will learn theories of and responses to social deviance, law and the legal system, administration theory and evaluation, law enforcement, juvenile justice systems and procedures, and crime prevention models. You will also be able to attend numerous conferences and lectures to broaden your professional perspective.

As a criminal justice major, you will also have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on internship experience that will add to your educational experience. You can gain additional experience by participating in the Campus Patrol Office program, which offers students who qualify an opportunity to gain hands-on experience as an employee of the University of South Carolina Division of Law Enforcement and Safety. In this major, you will be required to actively participate in productions (we plan up to six plays per semester). You will have access to outstanding facilities, including two on-campus venues featuring an arena stage (one of the few in the region) and a proscenium stage. Additionally, we offer a Black Box laboratory season to highlight undergraduate talent and have an additional Black Box space specifically designated for student projects and experimental works. Students will also have access to a full costume shop and scenic studio, one of the three largest university scenic shops in the country.

You will also benefit from an active guest artist program, which brings in professional directors, actors and designers from all over the world to work with students. In addition to specific training and skills learned in acting, design and technical areas, our students gain skills in collaboration, project management, creative problem-solving, communication and leadership. You will enjoy small classes for performance and design courses so that you can benefit from one-on-one training with faculty members. Outside of the classroom, you will also work directly with faculty members as a part of the training for main-stage and laboratory rehearsal and performance.

The Department of Marketing at the Moore School is widely acclaimed for its scholarly expertise in various facets of consumer psychology, marketing strategy, research methods, behavioral pricing and marketing communications. It offers an undergraduate concentration in marketing as well as two Ph.D. concentrations — consumer behavior and marketing analysis.

The Department of Marketing offers an undergraduate marketing major focusing on the process of planning and executing the development, pricing, distributions and promotion of services, products and ideas.
