The MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) program at the University at Albany is designed to educate the next generation of professionals and innovators. The master’s program provides a high degree of specialization in one of three technical concentration areas: signal processing and communications, electronic circuits and systems, and control and computing systems.

UAlbany ECE students may choose to study full-time or part-time; and can select either a thesis option that includes a multiple-semester research experience or a non-thesis option with a one-semester project or project course. If you're interested in public policy we have two main concentrations and a set of substantive concentrations in specific policy areas (e.g., health policy; education policy; criminal justice policy; women and public policy, global affairs, etc) that you might choose to design with the assistance of your advisor.

If you're interested in more applied quantitative or qualitative skills in conducting policy analysis, we recommend the Policy Analytic Methods concentration.

If you have an interest in the policy process and politics (i.e., drafting legislation, political advocacy/strategy, lobbying, etc), we recommend the Policy Process, Politics and Institutions concentration.

If you want to become a certified public accountant but didn’t earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting, the 21-month MS in Accounting program at UAlbany can help you achieve your goal.

Designed for students with no prior background in accounting or business, this cohort-based program includes four semesters of full-time study that fulfill the education criteria required to obtain initial licensure as a certified public accountant in New York State. (A part-time option is also available for this program. Full-time requires availability days and evenings, Monday-Friday).

Coursework covers management fundamentals, in-depth study of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and practical training in contemporary accounting software and emerging technologies. Advanced topics include liabilities, assets, and income tax; auditing and internal controls; and budgeting and cost-profit analysis. In your last semester, you complete an academic research seminar.
