Physics
The Physics major is the study of matter, energy, force and motion and the way in which they relate to one another. It provides a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for graduate studies or careers in technology, medicine, education, law, finance, industry and other professions. The Middle Grades Education Program is ideal for students who are eager to work with growing minds and daily changes. When teaching middle grades students, who are discovering who they are and what they want to do with their lives, there is rarely a dull moment in the classroom. The program prepares highly qualified teachers that will earn a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with a specific subject in 4-8 certification. Supplemental certification may be added in English as a Second Language.

Accounting
The Accounting major (designated as a pre-major) consists of a strong technical foundation in financial accounting. Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (M.S.M.E.) program, The M.S.M.E. is 30 semester-hour graduate programs comprising 24 hours of graduate course work and a 6-hour research-oriented thesis. A non-thesis option is available, comprising 27 hours of coursework and 3 hours of MS Project.

General Family and Consumer Sciences
The General Family & Consumer Sciences (GFCS) program at Baylor University focuses on issues that affect individuals, families and communities. Astrophysics
Astrophysics is the branch of Astronomy that deals with the physics of space. It includes the physical properties of space objects (like planets, starts, galaxies and comets) as well as their interactions. Astrophysics includes many other disciplines from physics, such as electromagnetism, relativity, mechanics, and atomic and molecular physics. The Astrophysics major is offered as either a Bachelor of Science (BS) or a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Available courses include:

Art History
Art History is the study of various mediums of art and their changes over time. Studied mediums include painting, sculpture, graphic arts and other visual forms. The histories of these mediums are compared alongside political, religious, and cultural shifts. Students learn to examine and scrutinize artwork through spoken and written word. Coursework also includes the study of the impact history and art have had on one another. Course topics include:

• Greek and Roman
• Renaissance and Baroque
• Contemporary Art
• 19th-21st Century European and American Art

The Albritton Art Institute focuses on 19th and 20th century European and American artists. Each semester, the institute provides fully funded field studies that allow students to observe and analyze artwork firsthand. Past destinations include New York City, London, Chicago, Vienna, and Venice.

The small size of the art history programs fosters a high degree of individual interaction with the faculty and a serious intellectual atmosphere. The fact that the art history faculty are both active scholars and strong teachers provide unique opportunities for Baylor's art history majors to develop significant experience and expertise both inside and outside the classroom.

Child and Family Studies
The Child and Family Studies (CFS) program at Baylor University focuses on the development of individuals and families as they grow and change. Students in this major study the dynamics of the life span (prenatal through late adulthood). This program offers four concentrations specializing in a content area, including:

The program is designed to prepare students for a variety of careers opportunities in hospitals, clinics, adoption agencies, youth ministries, family planning centers, social services, youth correctional facilities or as teachers. It also offers the opportunity to pursue certification as either a Child Life Specialist or a Certified Family Life Educator. No matter what career path is chosen, students will become professionals who practice critical thinking, self-reflection and scientific inquiry.
