The World Language Education (WLE) program integrates education and language courses. Your foreign language education degree will prepare you to teach kindergarten through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private schools.

As part of this program, you will take language courses from the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and education courses from the College of Education. You will earn a BA from the College of Education, and concentrations are offered in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.

DePaul’s master’s in International Public Service (IPS) is designed for students interested in the field of international development and global humanitarian affairs. You’ll gain the skills and expertise to manage, lead and evaluate international projects and organizations.

As part of the Grace School of Applied Diplomacy at DePaul, our Master of Applied Diplomacy program unites traditional and non-traditional approaches to the field of diplomacy. Here, we know that the work of diplomacy is not limited to members of the foreign service, but practiced by members of non-governmental organizations, business people, scientists, and community organizers.

Diplomacy and Migration
The Diplomacy and Migration concentration provides students with a foundation for applying the tools and understanding of diplomatic practices--such as mediation, conflict resolution, advocacy and leadership—to the pressing challenges posed by forced migration. Students will have the opportunity to place the study and practice of diplomacy into conversation with the disciplines of history, forced migration studies, human rights law, public health, and international relations.

With a master’s in Health Communication, you’ll bring clarity and understanding to complex, critical health care issues for consumers, providers and organizations. You’ll apply communication theory, research and practice to the specific needs of the health care industry.

The master's in Health Informatics provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to implement and support information technology solutions for health sector organizations. Graduates will obtain technical knowledge and management skills for the design and support of IT systems and will develop a deep understanding of health IT processes to support health care delivery and management. Graduates will also gain knowledge in the areas of health information management including health information processing and exchange, health care analytics, enterprise management and information storage and security management.

The Master of Science in Game Programming is designed for those interested in game development programming at the highest level, including real time computing, computer graphics, and professional retooling for the game industry. Students will learn about software engineering, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, animation, software architecture, and networking. The game programming degree addresses the real-world needs of industry through special, topic-based classes. Courses are taught with a mixture of theory and applied practice. Covering both emerging trends and proven knowledge, the program's content is always relevant and current. This combination of approaches allows students to understand the connection between realized applied systems and issues they'll likely face professionally in years to come.

The Media and Cinema Studies degree combines courses from the film, television, radio and new media fields of study. You will develop an understanding of critical frameworks and theories in media studies, as well as develop your creativity and technological skills.

You will take courses from the College of Communication, the School of Cinematic Arts and other university departments. And you will have access to DePaul’s green screen studio, control room, film editing suites and the digital equipment facility.

The College of Communication is located in downtown Chicago, at DePaul’s Loop campus, giving you access to many media outlets and allowing you to meet and work professionally with leading companies in the industry.

DePaul’s bachelor degree in Applied Diplomacy program will provide you with a deep understanding and appreciation for traditional and non-traditional approaches to the field. As part of the recently launched Grace School of Applied Diplomacy, the program will teach you how the work of 21st century diplomacy is informed by the contributions of multiple voices and perspectives through the eyes of both scholars and practitioners.

As you work toward your degree in diplomacy, you’ll gain a foundational understanding of the theory and practice of diplomacy in order to engage real-world challenges posed by social and political factionalization, conflict and competing interpretations of individual responsibility, civic duty and national identity.

Higher Education Administration Concentration
For managers in post-secondary institutions of learning, this concentration teaches necessary analytical and managerial skills. The coursework helps students develop an understanding of management principles, policy analysis, and research within higher education. Electives provide opportunities to explore leadership, governance, strategic planning, budgeting, finance, law, diversity, enrollment management, marketing, student affairs, and politics in higher education.

DePaul’s Game Programming program will teach you the fundamentals and details of programming, with a focus on the interdisciplinary aspects of game development.

Throughout your game development degree coursework, you’ll collaborate on teams with other programmers, artists, game designers, producers, writers and audio designers. Upon completion of the program, you’ll be prepared to work in computer gaming and programming, as well as interactive media fields.
