The MBA concentration in Marketing Strategy and Planning trains future upper-level managers to master the art of business development and marketing. This concentration puts you on a career track toward positions like chief marketing officer, creative director, senior brand manager and senior product manager.

You’ll gain the knowledge and ability to

• Manage customers, product lines and new product development
• Understand the design and sustainability of innovative business models
• Develop plans and strategies to achieve firm marketing objectives
• Analyze consumer behavior and translate your findings into sound business decisions

The World Language Education (WLE) program integrates education and language courses. Your foreign language education degree will prepare you to teach kindergarten through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private schools.

As part of this program, you will take language courses from the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and education courses from the College of Education. You will earn a BA from the College of Education, and concentrations are offered in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) will prepare you for a leadership position within the public sector. You’ll develop the critical management skills you’ll need to succeed in your public service career, including:

• Ethical organizational leadership
• Public finance and budgeting
• Human resource management
• Public policy design and analysis

?Emergency Management Concentration
Emergency Management is a critical concern for the public, private and non-profit sectors. The concentration explores both the conceptual elements of emergency preparedness and the practical implementation of emergency management that typically occur at the intersection of local and national politics. Courses will address topics such as public safety and law enforcement, crisis management, disaster response and recovery. This concentration will provide students with both theoretical and practical knowledge that will prepare them for private or public sector employment in the area of emergency preparedness for both security and non-security related incidents

Higher Education Administration Concentration
For managers in post-secondary institutions of learning, this concentration teaches necessary analytical and managerial skills. The coursework helps students develop an understanding of management principles, policy analysis, and research within higher education. Electives provide opportunities to explore leadership, governance, strategic planning, budgeting, finance, law, diversity, enrollment management, marketing, student affairs, and politics in higher education.

As part of the Grace School of Applied Diplomacy at DePaul, our Master of Applied Diplomacy program unites traditional and non-traditional approaches to the field of diplomacy. Here, we know that the work of diplomacy is not limited to members of the foreign service, but practiced by members of non-governmental organizations, business people, scientists, and community organizers.

Urban Diplomacy
The Urban Diplomacy concentration examines the practice of diplomacy within the boundaries of a single city. Students learn how to apply the tools and understanding of diplomatic practices like mediation, conflict resolution, advocacy, and leadership within the context of local government, community organizing, and globally-connected business.

Our Management degree program will provide you with an overview of business operations, including techniques to strategically align the human, technology and financial assets of a firm. As a business management major, you’ll become prepared for a career in a variety of service-delivery, manufacturing, consulting, non-profit and digital business environments.

Choose from one of six concentrations — general management, entrepreneurship, human resources, leadership and change management, operations management, or sports management. The courses you take will be tailored to the concentration you choose.

Business management majors here will benefit from programs and networking events at DePaul’s Coleman Entrepreneurship Center and Center for Innovation, as well as DePaul’s presence in Chicago’s 1871 business incubator.

Our writing and rhetoric program is dedicated to writing degree students who will study literate activity across time and culture, and produce effective writing in contemporary settings—from the personal to the professional.

Because our lives are increasingly mediated by digital technologies that combine writing, sound and image in interactive spaces, you’ll explore what it means to live and work as a digital writer.

Faculty members who teach in the writing degree program are published specialists in rhetoric, writing studies, English as a second language (ESL), technical and professional writing, and new media studies.

The Master of Music in performance degree prepares students for professional music careers in a supportive, collegial environment.  Graduate students study with highly celebrated performers who are committed to teaching excellence.  The graduate performance program consists of applied lessons, ensembles, core studies in music theory/history and research, and related studies.  The Master of Music degree is a two year program.

Our interdisciplinary studies master’s degree programs emphasize liberal studies education and enhance your intellectual skills. You’ll design your own program, which will allow you to study multiple academic disciplines, including traditional humanities, social sciences, education, business, computing and digital media.

The Health Care Administration concentration provides students with the managerial and analytical skills necessary to understand and influence the processes through which hospitals, associated health care organizations, and public and private agencies provide health care opportunities to explore the roles of specific nonprofit and governmental health care providers and regulatory agencies.
