The Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies curriculum integrates classroom learning with real-world experience from day one, emphasizing development of global leadership skills. Central to the program are requirements that students reside in Costa Rica, Spain, Italy, China, Australia, and a New York-based final capstone semester, where students complete their senior thesis. From these countries, they will travel to Panama, Nicaragua, Morocco, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Turkey, India, Thailand, and Bali. LIU Global students typically complete at least four internships during their study.

The 36 to 63-credit Master’s of Business Administration (number of credits is based on your undergraduate coursework) provides the knowledge base and skills that enable professionals to become leaders in business by offering a comprehensive program which meets the needs of an ever-changing, global business environment. The program is offered on a part-time basis during the evenings and weekends with 15- and 7-week semesters, to accommodate the schedules of busy working professionals who are interested in advancing their careers. The Master's Program in psychology is built on a strong core curriculum in general psychology and provides professionals with a broad perspective of the discipline of psychology, research skills and professional ethics. Advanced courses encourage students to consider current trends and challenges in fields that provide psychological services. In supplementing the core curriculum with electives in a variety of specialized areas, the M.A. strengthens professionals’ skills in both the theory and practice of psychology and related fields. Students can complete the M.A. in Psychology with 33 credits (30 credits of course work and 3 credits for the thesis) or 36 credits of course work and the completion of a comprehensive examination. The thesis provides an opportunity to work closely with a faculty member in a selected area of expertise.

The master’s program prepares graduates to work in a variety of mental health or human service settings, including mental health care facilities, child welfare and family counseling agencies, institutions for the aged, and other social and community organizations. Graduates are also prepared for admission to programs of advanced study in psychology, such as the Ph.D. and Psy.D. programs.

B.S. in Accounting prepares students for acceptance into various master’s programs and for employment in either the public, private, government or not-for-profit sectors in addition to entry-level positions in business, financial and accounting firms. Students learn essential skills in financial and managerial accounting, taxation and auditing. The curriculum provides a systems approach to prepare students to be technically competent, alert to ethical issues and able to adapt to changes in technology, regulation and globalization.

Student clubs for accounting majors include the Accounting Society, which regularly sponsors professional events and host lectures by guest speakers in the accounting profession. The National Association of Black Accountants offers students the opportunity to participate in mentorship and apprenticeship programs, providing them with the hands-on experience that is so critical to future employers.

The Roc Nation’s School of Music, Sports & Entertainment’s innovative B.A. in Sports Communication & Marketing is the first of it’s kind in the New York metro area. The program prepares students for careers in a dynamic and growing spectrum of sports media. As the $500 billion sports industry continues to grow, there will be increased demand for professionals with business and communications training.

Drawing on years of industry experience, LIU’s faculty experts will create a dynamic course of study through experiential learning and access to world-renowned sports industry professionals.

Students will gain practical experience in sports writing and reporting; promotion of sports teams, events and products; performing as a play-by-play announcer or program host; and production of sports content for traditional, online and social media. Students will also have the opportunity to engage with LIU’s robust alumni network, which includes notable sports reporters, publicists and experts in New York City and beyond. Graduates of the program will be ready for careers in sports broadcasting, sports management, or sports information.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2018) projects a high demand for social workers due to job growth in fields, such as mental health and substance abuse, and settings, such as hospitals. It’s never been a better time to join this dynamic and diverse profession.

The program prepares entry-level social work practitioners to meet the growing, unique and varied social service needs of the diverse communities of Brooklyn, New York City, and beyond. Graduates of the program have strong clinical, advocacy and administrative skills that they use in community-based, governmental, and for-profit organizations across the region.

The program partners with local community-based organizations to provide well-trained generalist practice social workers, prepared to work with individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities through a variety of methods.

In addition to preparing students for careers in social work, the program also prepares students who seek to pursue a graduate degree in social work and in other related fields. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for advanced standing in a graduate program in Social Work. With Advanced Standing, students only need to complete one-year of graduate study to earn their master degree.

The B.S. in Biology is designed to prepare students for graduate or professional studies as well as for entering the job market. Students can elect to specialize in molecular biology. Students who elect to specialize in this concentration must complete all of the requirements for the B.S. in Biology. They also are required to take specific biology courses as part of their advanced biology electives.

The B.S. in Exercise Science & Wellness specifically focuses on areas such as human performance, exercise physiology, strength & conditioning, nutrition, biomechanics, sports management and inclusive fitness programing. The curriculum was designed to provide a strong foundation in scientific, physiological, and psychological concepts related to sports performance, wellness, fitness evaluation and exercise adherence, exercise prescription, inclusive fitness and health promotion. Our program positions students for careers in Commercial Fitness, with Professional Sports Teams, at Community Centers, in Non-Profit Organizations, in addition to Wellness Companies, Hotels & Cruise Ships, and the Entertainment Industry. Our graduates are academically prepared to pursue graduate and professional degrees in a wide range of allied health professions such as exercise physiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, sports medicine, personal and athletic training.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Technology, Entrepreneurship and Production puts students inside the recording studio and prepares them for a behind-the-scenes careers in the music industry. Students will develop exceptional competency in all aspects of the music making process.

Program graduates will have the tools to build successful careers in creative entrepreneurship, venue management, distribution, performance, songwriting, engineering and production.
