The Bachelor of Science degree program in Artificial Intelligence is one of the first degrees of its kind in the country. Students of this program will build the foundational knowledge necessary to design computational systems that exhibit “human-like intelligence” such as the ability to interpret sensory input, learn from experience, understand human language, and support intelligent decision-making. Graduates will have the skill-set necessary to meet industry demand for workers able to contribute to research and development in Artificial Intelligence across all industry sectors. The program begins with introductory courses in programming, computer science, mathematics, and statistics that provide a firm technical foundation. The curriculum then introduces core artificial intelligence concepts and techniques including state-space search, game-playing, machine learning, neural networks, and deep learning with applications to various domains (e.g. computer vision, natural language processing and understanding).

The program is supported by a cutting-edge learning and design center which will provide students and faculty with state-of-the art technologies, tools, and systems to support learning and research. This center will provide students with the opportunity to develop research projects and prototypes with the same big data and artificial intelligence platforms used in cutting-edge industry applications.

The Master of Science program in Pharmacology and Toxicology prepares students with the knowledge and abilities required for competitive technical positions in pharmacological research and testing, for participating in clinical trials, and for performing toxicological reviews and assessments in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries as well as in academic and governmental research laboratories.

Additionally, graduates are well positioned to continue their studies in Ph.D. programs in pharmacology and other biomedical sciences, while other graduates may find the program ideal for improving their credentials toward gaining admission to medical school or other health professional programs.

Career opportunities and employment may include academic departments involved in research, development, and teaching. Rewarding careers are also possible in pharmaceutical companies, government laboratories and agencies including the Centers for Disease Control, The Food and Drug Administration, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Defense and NASA. The Master's Program in psychology is built on a strong core curriculum in general psychology and provides professionals with a broad perspective of the discipline of psychology, research skills and professional ethics. Advanced courses encourage students to consider current trends and challenges in fields that provide psychological services. In supplementing the core curriculum with electives in a variety of specialized areas, the M.A. strengthens professionals’ skills in both the theory and practice of psychology and related fields. Students can complete the M.A. in Psychology with 33 credits (30 credits of course work and 3 credits for the thesis) or 36 credits of course work and the completion of a comprehensive examination. The thesis provides an opportunity to work closely with a faculty member in a selected area of expertise.

The master’s program prepares graduates to work in a variety of mental health or human service settings, including mental health care facilities, child welfare and family counseling agencies, institutions for the aged, and other social and community organizations. Graduates are also prepared for admission to programs of advanced study in psychology, such as the Ph.D. and Psy.D. programs.

The program is registered by the New York State Department of Education. Graduates of the program receive a Master of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology that satisfies the academic and professional requirements specified by ASHA for the CCC-SLP, and are eligible to apply for licensure in SLP by the New York State Department of Education's Office of the Professions. Students who wish to satisfy the New York State Education Office of Teaching requirements for Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) may also prepare for this certification as part of their graduate program. Students demonstrating proficiency (i.e., speaking, listening, reading, and writing) in a language other than English may further prepare for a certificate in Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities with a Bilingual Extension. The entrepreneurial process of value creation through innovation remains the same regardless of the context or the ultimate goal. Although people often assume that the focus of entrepreneurship is on starting for-profit businesses, learning the entrepreneurial process will help you to think more strategically in all of your endeavors.

The best way to understand the entrepreneurial process is to take a hands-on, experiential approach. In this major, students will interact extensively with the business community both inside and outside the classroom and produce a plan that is both defensible to potential investors and actionable in the real world.
