As an economics major, you will learn how to create plans to forecast and address societal issues such as unemployment, inflation and environmental maintenance. Cutting-edge courses teach you the latest strategies and resources in economics, including microeconomic analysis, statistics and business trends in marketing, finance, information technologies, money and banking, public finance and taxation, economics and the law, government spending, and labor management.

In the Department of Criminal Justice, undergraduate and graduate programs are designed to meet the constant demand for law enforcement and criminal justice professionals. Our programs also provide an excellent pathway toward the study of law.

Our core curriculum thoroughly explores the theory and practice of the criminal justice system. But you will customize your study through elective courses that focus on a particular area of interest. Our full-time faculty is an internationally renowned group of academic professionals, and our adjunct professors are working criminal justice professionals, including attorneys, judges and law enforcement officials.

The Bachelor of Arts degree program in Criminal Justice is designed to meet the demands for professionals working in policing, corrections, prosecution and pretrial services, probation, parole, juveniles, public safety, victim services, civil and family courts, homeland security, international security, and other related fields. In addition to our core curriculum, which thoroughly explores the theory and practice of the criminal justice system, you can choose from elective courses that focus on a particular area of interest. The curriculum will expose you to the latest trends in theory and technology that impact criminal justice.

LIU Post is one of the few programs in the country that offers entry-level bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology and has been a provider of education in diagnostic imaging since 1973. Radiologic technologists operate x-ray and digital imaging machines, digital mammography equipment, computed tomography (CT scan) machines, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to provide physicians with images of the skeletal system, organs, tissues and other vessels of the body—important diagnostic tests that help doctors detect and treat illness and injury. The B.S. in Radiologic Technology is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

The degree equips students to make strategic decisions regarding product design, product portfolio, distribution, pricing, advertising and promotion, sales, customer service, digital marketing, branding and licensing and other elements of the ever-changing marketing landscape.

The College of Management at LIU Post is known for its distinguished professors, state-of-the-art facilities and strong network of successful alumni. Marketing majors take classes in a technologically advanced academic environment. The College's Center for Learning is equipped with wireless classrooms, two board rooms, a financial markets classroom, small seminar rooms and a student lounge. Clinical Laboratory Scientists are highly skilled professionals who are qualified by passing the national certification examination and licensed by NY State to work in a several departments of a clinical laboratory including hematology, microbiology, immunohematology, chemistry, immunology and molecular diagnostics (CLS generalist). They play a key role in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and illnesses. Using sophisticated laboratory analyzers, CLS generalists perform tests and analyze cells, blood and other body fluids to detect abnormalities. They are a vital source of diagnostic information to doctors who use the test results to determine and monitor a course of treatment for patients.

The B.S. CLS program and the corresponding MS CLS program, are accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS, 5600 N. River Rd., Suite 720, Rosemont, IL, 60018-5119; 773.714.8880; [email protected]), which is the national accrediting body for CLS programs. The goals of the programs are to exceed the NAACLS specified benchmarks for certification exam pass rate, graduation rate and employment rate. This program integrates a complex level of didactic theoretical and technical instruction. Following successful completion of the CLS didactic courses, students are selected for the practicum by competitively placement into clinical sites contracted with LIU Post- a list of the sites is shown below. Students successfully completing the practicum are eligible to take the ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) national certification examinations for a CLS generalist. Certification is necessary for employment nation-wide and is required for licensure in New York State. Conferral of the B.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science degree is not contingent upon passing a certification or licensure exam.

The 120-credit Bachelor of Arts in Psychology is a popular and versatile undergraduate degree. It can be applied to almost any area of work, including social services, law, human resources, business and government. Courses in this program explore how people learn, what lies behind people’s behavior, how the brain affects behavior, how gender affects development and the different ways in which people interact. Elective courses will introduce you to interesting and relevant topics including forensic psychology, psychosomatics, and industrial and organizational psychology.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Arts with a concentration in Musical Theatre provides personalized and intensive classroom instruction and stage experience to prepare students for performance careers in Musical Theatre. Students receive a rigorous grounding in history, literature, theories and methodologies of classical and contemporary theatre arts, and work with professional musicians, actors and playwrights. Students also have a variety of opportunities to perform in main stage productions directed by renowned New York City directors. The 120-credit program is selective and acceptance into the program requires an audition.

The musical theatre concentration draws from the Suzuki, Stanislavsky, Chekhov and Linklater techniques with concentrated study in techniques and approaches to musical theatre. The core program, taught by professional theatre artists, emphasizes development of a riveting stage presence based on dynamic physicality, emotional authenticity and a commanding voice.

The 120-credit Bachelor of Science in Political Science is an individualized, interdisciplinary program designed for students interested in a liberal arts approach to the contemporary world. You will graduate from this program with a well-rounded knowledge of political theory, American government, international relations, comparative government and public administration. Distinguished professors interact with their students in small class settings that foster the exchange of information, perspective and ideas. Visiting professors from prestigious institutions, including the United Nations, offer insights developed in the course of careers in diplomacy, politics and public policy. A degree in political science is excellent preparation for a career in education, law, public administration, business and many other fields.

Students that pursue the 120-credit B.F.A. degree in Digital Art and Design have a variety of exciting career paths available to them. The program is intended to prepare students for successful careers in Graphic Design for Print, Web Design, Animation, and UX Interaction Design. The mission of the program is to impart fundamental knowledge of design and nurture the technical and creative skills necessary for graduates to secure opportunities as professional designers. Our plan of study provides students with comprehensive experience in industry-standard design software and introduces them to the different career paths they can pursue in various fields of design.
