They hone their thinking ability as they encounter diverse views of historical development to implement methods and theories used in analyzing and understanding the past.

History students do far more than memorize names and dates, for they must come to their own conclusions about the forces that have shaped humanity as well as the significance of historical events.

The study of history offers students the ability to develop important intellectual skills. History students will gain a political and cultural awareness that leads to a deeper appreciation of news, literature, art, and music. You’ll also understand key accounting theories and concepts, and will apply these accounting theories and concepts correctly. As part of this degree, you’ll perfect your communication skills and be competent in business practices.

We encourage students to explore and integrate three disciplines of English studies in their work, through the study of literature, applied linguistics, and writing. We challenge students to analyze, think critically about, and compose texts across genres, language varieties, and traditions for communities across cultural and geographic boundaries. In our courses and community events, students develop the advanced critical and creative literacies and language-related skills that prepare them for their future as active and ethical members of diverse communities.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you will develop the advanced critical and creative literacies and language-related skills that prepare you for your future as active and ethical member of diverse communities. You will also apply critical terms and theoretical concepts and perspectives in writing and analyzing texts. What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll enjoy small specialty classes and diverse laboratory and field experiences. Environmental science facilities include biological, geological and map collections as well as a wide array of field and laboratory equipment, and computer labs for GIS and modeling studies. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi research centers and institutes on campus afford students access to modern laboratories where they may participate in environmental research.

The Bachelor of Arts degree with major study in art is a general program in art. The degree requires a minimum of 51 semester hours of art coursework. Course selections include two- and three-dimensional art, art history, design, and art electives.

This is a dynamic department with students studying human relationships, analyzing film and television, creating films, practicing public relations, writing for the student newspaper, and instructing others in communication.

Within this program, you’ll be able to gather, evaluate and synthesize information to build and defend arguments. You’ll also demonstrate communication competence in dyadic, small group and presentational contexts. As part of this degree, you’ll employ discipline-specific knowledge in applied communication situations.
