The International Pathway Program (IPP) is your route to a degree from the highly ranked University of Hartford. Music Education: Pedagogy
The Pedagogy emphasis enables the student to design coursework that will strengthen his/her understanding and application of effective teaching methods.

Students study a combination of English Language courses and credit-bearing academic courses. So they can earn credits towards their degree from the beginning. 

Guitar
In 1968, Hartt graduated its first guitar major and over the years the program has expanded to offer a Master of Music, Graduate Professional Diploma, Doctor of Musical Arts, and Artist Diploma.

At Hartt, you will participate in masterclasses given by world renowned performers. Past guest artists include Oscar Ghiglia, Antigoni Goni, and Andrew York.

Our graduates presently hold or have held guitar positions at various prestigious institutions, including New England Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, The Longy School of Music, and Oberlin Conservatory.

Our alumni and present students have won or been finalists in the Alirio Diaz International Guitar Competition in Venezuela, Guitar Foundation of America International Guitar Competition, American String Teachers Competition, MTNA competition, and Appalachian State Guitar Competition.

In addition to classical guitar training, you will also experience chamber music, guitar pedagogy, guitar literature, lute and baroque guitar tablature, and electric guitar styles. Our goal is to graduate students who are well-prepared to enter the fields of concert performance and college teaching. Towards that end we hold weekly performance classes that are required of all performance majors. In addition, every year, we sponsor six to eight public performances as part of our Evening with Guitar concert series.  This provides our students the opportunity to develop and refine their performance skills in a professional setting.

Violin
You will join a tight-knit community of artists who are perfecting their craft. Health Sciences - Pre-Chiropractic

The combined Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Chiropractic (BS/DC) program between the University of Hartford and New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) provides a unique opportunity for students with career goals in chiropractic medicine. The accelerated program typically allows for the completion of the BS/DC degrees in a six-and-one-third-year period.

The BS/DC program is for the academically outstanding student with strong, realistic motivation toward the chiropractic profession. Initial study at the University of Hartford allows you to complete the general education and basic science requirements for the BS in health science degree and the prerequisites necessary for professional study. The BS degree is awarded by the University of Hartford following the successful completion of the first year of graduate study. Students who are not in the accelerated program typically complete the BS degree in four years at the University of Hartford.

The chiropractic program requires three and one-third years of combined academic and clinical training leading to the DC degree, which is a prerequisite for licensure eligibility in the United States. NYCC provides students with an accredited three-and-one-third-year professional chiropractic curriculum.

Accounting
Accounting is a professional major that prepares you for entry-level positions in public accounting, management accounting, and financial management. Gain the basic knowledge of accounting theory and practice. Explore accounting’s interrelationship with other fields of business, including financial analysis, operations management, and information technology.

The integration of theory and practice in our MSOP program prepares you to lead, manage, and/or consult with dynamic and diverse organizations operating in a global environment. Courses are taken in the Department of Psychology, School of Communication, and Barney School of Business, students develop unique analytical skills and accumulate knowledge from the differing perspectives of these schools of thought.

Early Childhood Education
extensive professional preparation through core theory, site-based observations, real-world fieldwork experiences, and two student teaching semesters in area schools.

All programs help shape our students’ professional identity in early childhood education and develop the professional skills to succeed in the field.

Our Master of Science in Organizational Psychology (MSOP) program gives you a theoretical framework in organizational behavior and the opportunity to improve your skills in research design, data collection and analysis, communication, facilitation, and interpersonal, group, and organizational issues.

The variety of electives offered, including courses in Education and Nursing, enables you to tailor your graduate experience to your  individual and professional needs.
