International Studies
At UHart, the world can be your classroom! Seventy-five percent of our international studies student study abroad for a semester, a year, or during our Winterterm or Summerterm.

You can concentrate in either global security or global development, and consider a double major in politics and government, economics, or modern languages and cultures.

If you are interested in a careers in government, business, education, the nonprofit sector, or certain areas of law, the international studies program gives you a solid foundation. It also is appropriate to prepare for graduate studies in a variety of fields.

Marketing
The Marketing major includes core business classes, to give you a background in all areas of for-profit companies and nonprofits. Then, delve deeper into the marketing field with more specialized classes. You may also choose a concentration in International Marketing, Marketing Communications, Retailing, and Services Marketing to focus your career path. An internship ties it all together, giving you hands-on experience for your resume and skills to use in your first job.

Music Management
When you decide to major in music management, you have the desire to pursue a strong musical and business course of study.  Playing a musical instrument or being a vocalist is required for entrance to the program. This can include classical instruments or classical voice, jazz instruments or voice, or commercial instruments (bass, drums, guitar, keyboard, or voice.)  

You will receive training in music theory, piano and keyboard, and music history, as well as weekly one hour lessons and coaching sessions with teachers in the performance area.  This combined with arts management and business courses give you the career ready skills to enter the industry.

Not only will you participate in music management events, but you also have the opportunity to participate in many of the large ensembles that make up Hartt’s music training program.

Civil Engineering
The civil engineering program prepares you for careers in various areas such as structural, geotechnical, transportation, environmental, water resources, and construction engineering.

Civil engineers will help solve critical challenges of the 21st century by rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure; planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining our built environment while protecting our natural resources; and leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve a sustainable world and raise the global quality of life.

Our program provides undergraduate laboratories and student-oriented collaborative space for research and project-based learning opportunities. Students creatively develop innovative solutions to issues facing society working alongside engaged faculty members and professional practitioners.

Biology
If you are planning a career in research or plan to go on to graduate, medical, dental school then the Bachelor of Science in Biology program is recommended for you.
The curriculum includes a broad approach to biology and offers a comprehensive background in mathematics and the natural sciences.

The Bachelor of Science in Biology prepares you to successfully apply to graduate programs in biology that lead to a master’s degree or doctorate, or to a professional school such as medical, dental, veterinary, or pharmacy. The Bachelor of Science in Biology program also offers a path to earn both a BS in Biology and PharmD degree in six years in conjunction with the University of Saint Joseph Pharmacy School.

Mathematics
Our Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics program gives you a strong math foundation, and the ability to choose from a number of mathematics electives to customize your curriculum. It’s a good fit if you are planning to pursue a career in business, education or technology and enjoy math!

Health Sciences - Pre-Podiatry
The BS/DPM program is for the academically outstanding student with strong, realistic motivation toward the podiatric profession. Initial study at the University of Hartford allows you to complete the general education and basic science requirements for the BS in health science degree and the prerequisites necessary for professional study.

The BS degree is awarded by the University of Hartford following the successful completion of the first year of graduate study.  Students who are not in the accelerated program typically complete the BS degree in four years at the University of Hartford.

The podiatry program requires four years of combined academic and clinical training leading to the DPM degree, which is a prerequisite for licensure eligibility in the United States. The New York College of Podiatric Medicine provides students with an accredited four-year professional podiatry curriculum.

Printmaking
You will learn the basics of the major techniques and must achieve mastery in lithography and etching. Black-and-white and color processes are taught in all media within the program. You are also encouraged to pursue other areas of the printmaking curriculum, such as relief, monotype, letterpress printing, and book arts. The work will lead to your senior exhibition and help prepare you for graduate school or a career in printmaking and the arts.

Lectures, demonstrations, and workshops with well-known visiting artists and master printers further enhance the curriculum, including the annual Hartford Print Workshop. This workshop brings in artists who work with students and master printers to create editioned prints in the HAS printmaking studios.

Cello
You will join a tight-knit community of artists who are perfecting their craft. Biomedical Engineering
