Instrumental Performance - Cello
You will join a tight-knit community of artists who are perfecting their craft. Double Bass

At The Hartt School, you will join a tight-knit community of artists who are perfecting their craft. Double bass activities include

• Weekly private lessons (technical and musical development of traditional and contemporary techniques and repertoire, and orchestral music)
• Orchestra Repertoire Class (excerpts and the audition process)
• Scales/Technique Class (compliments the work done in private lessons on achieving technical mastery)
• Repertoire Class (explores all aspects of the double bass literature and history, by listening to recordings, looking at scores, and discussing various topics)

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in civil engineering program emphasizes applied design, fundamental coursework, and development of key communication skills to meet today's industry demands and advance your career.

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in civil engineering program emphasizes applied design and stresses the development of oral, visual, and written communication skills in civil engineering to enable individuals to advance in their careers. Discover new knowledge in design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment. Have the flexibility to take research project-based courses through one of three tracks offered based on your interests. You may concentrate your studies in civil engineering, structural engineering, or transportation engineering by selecting appropriate courses available.

Engineering Technology (Contract Major)

The Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science gives you the flexibility to tailor your curriculum to satisfy your individual talents and goals. The program combines a set of required core courses with a wide variety of elective courses in the various areas of computer science.

Actor Training
The actor training major challenges you to expand both your craft and your creative imagination so that you can be successful in a broad range of theatrical styles from the contemporary to the classical. A carefully planned progression of acting, voice and speech, and movement classes stimulates your talent and builds the capacity to be bold and innovative. Fourth-year actor training students audition for roles in the Hartford Stage Company’s season, including its annual production of A Christmas Carol.

Judaic Studies
Judaic studies is an interdisciplinary program of study which focuses on the Jews and Judaism, including but not limited to, historical, linguistic, religious, sociological, political, and philosophical perspectives. Our program spans the periods from the beginnings of ancient Israel through the modern Jews and modern Israel. If you have no previous experience with Hebrew language, you are required to complete 42 credits including three required, core courses in Jewish history (9 credits) and two years of modern Hebrew (12 credits). The modern Hebrew requirement may be waived for students who demonstrate equivalent fluency.

The mission of the acoustical engineering and music program is to provide excellent educational experience for its students, with an emphasis on preparing graduates for professional practice in engineering and/or graduate school.
