Music Education: Pedagogy
The Pedagogy emphasis enables the student to design coursework that will strengthen his/her understanding and application of effective teaching methods.

Biochemistry
Our Biochemistry program lets you study the chemistry of the living world and is great combination if you enjoy physical and chemical sciences.
The biochemistry curriculum is designed to help you pursue graduate work in chemistry or biology, and/or acquire the skills necessary for a career in healthcare and science, such as:

Civil Engineering
The Master of Science (MS) in civil engineering program is a research-oriented program that focuses on the advancement of the fundamental body of knowledge in civil engineering while also fostering the development of skills in design and analysis. This program lets you study an area of interest as part of a graduate thesis. Work towards solving a contemporary problem and become a technical expert. This program is also ideal for those who endeavor to eventually pursue their doctoral degree in an area within engineering.

Organizational Psychology
The integration of theory and practice in our MSOP program prepares you to lead, manage, and/or consult with dynamic and diverse organizations operating in a global environment. Courses are taken in the Department of Psychology, School of Communication, and Barney School of Business, students develop unique analytical skills and accumulate knowledge from the differing perspectives of these schools of thought.

English Secondary Education

The curriculum features a combination of English courses and education courses in a structured program that includes practice teaching.

In your English classes, work with award-winning published authors and poets who share your passion for teaching. In your education classes, acquire the qualities and expertise that make a great teacher such as:

The education curriculum gives you a theoretical base according to the state requirements, and a practical application of carefully considered educational principles. In addition, you receive a solid grounding in the essentials of the subject matter that you will go on to teach.

Our computer science programs encourage hands-on learning in both group and individual classroom settings. We offer four undergraduate programs:

The Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science includes a set of required core courses with the flexibility to choose from among a wide variety of elective courses in the various areas of computer science.

Painting and Drawing
Drawing and painting are closely linked visual practices, and an understanding of one enriches a maturing practice of the other. A fluid definition of these disciplines underscores our understanding that the contemporary art world is widely interdisciplinary in nature.

As a student in the painting and drawing department, you will develop personally significant ideas that reference painting’s rich history and contribute to its lively contemporary conversation.

Clarinet

Learn about the clarinet program at Hartt, including undergraduate and graduate admission and audition requirements and faculty information.

The University of Hartford’s College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions collaborates with Hanger Clinic to offer a Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MSPO). The professions of prosthetics and orthotics are specialized allied health professions that combine a unique blend of clinical and technical skills. Professionals in this field design, fabricate, and fit orthoses and prostheses for a broad range of clients from pediatric to geriatric.

Practitioners interact directly with clients and their families, advising and supporting the rehabilitation process. They work closely with other members of the rehabilitation team, including orthopedic surgeons, rehabilitation physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and nurses.

dmission into the Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MSPO) program is offered to those who hold a bachelor's degree, have completed the prerequisite courses, and otherwise qualify for admission.
