To produce graduates who are competent, caring Registered Dietitian Nutritionists who remain active in the practice, by providing innovative, inter-professional, student centered education with a focus on experiential education, and with an emphasis on lifelong learning.

The Master of Science in Nutrition Sciences program provides a curriculum and supervised experiences that are designed to fulfill required competencies established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics under the Future Education Model (FEM) accreditation. Successful completion of the program results in a Verification Statement from the Program Director authorizing eligibility to sit for the national registration exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Successful passage of this exam confers the title Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

Work Permit USA

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.

It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

  1. Pre-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment provided to F-1 students before completion of their course of study.
  2. Post-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment available to F-1 students after completing their course of study.
  3. 24 Month STEM Extension: Students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses can a 24-month extension after their initial Post-Completion OPT authorization.

Such perspective is essential to operating in today’s increasing complex multi-national business context. The program ensures students have a proficiency in a second language, enhanced socio-cultural awareness and a robust study abroad experience. Today’s business climate is marked by fluid and interconnected financial markets, widely available technological advancements that increase global connectivity, increased international trade, and the emergence of vibrant growing economies in what were formerly considered third world countries. Increased globalization has necessitated that managers have a broad, holistic perspective that incorporates the diverse components of an international business degree. Through the biology program at the University of New Haven, you will learn to do both successfully, applying the theoretical knowledge you gain in the classroom in hands-on laboratory activities and engaging in field work right from the start.

Accountants have the critical task of providing a comprehensive picture of a company’s financial health so that business owners can make informed decisions that directly impact their company’s bottom line. That is why the field of accounting is a breeding ground for business leaders. In fact, John D. Rockefeller, widely considered the wealthiest American of all time and the richest person in modern history, starting working at age 16 as an accountant. Today, more than half of Fortune 100 CEOs have a degree in business, economics, or accounting.

As an accounting major at the University of New Haven, you’ll participate in a well-rounded education that goes beyond the numbers. You’ll learn how to impart technologically-driven insight and even solve white-collar crimes.

The program offers three tracks. You will choose one of the following:

  • Financial accounting: This is the track if you want to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Corporate accounting: You’ll develop the skills necessary to thrive in the corporate environment and become a CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
  • Forensic accounting: Focus on financial crimes, including investigation and white-collar crime, through coursework in accounting and through the world-renowned Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences.

A concentration is not required if the student’s educational or career goals can best be met without this specialization.

  • Students will learn how to employ the knowledge gained through their classes to the workplace through supervised experiential learning opportunities such as internships, practicum, case studies, and applied research projects.
  • Students will conduct applied organizational research and interpret research used to make business decisions.

A total of 45 credits is required of candidates for the master of arts degree in industrial/organizational psychology. Candidates for this degree must complete 24 credits of basic program requirements. Another 21 credits (including concentrations, program options, and electives) are chosen after consultation with the program coordinator in light of the student’s academic and professional goals. Students may not complete more than nine credits of electives until they have satisfied the basic requirements. Up to nine credits of electives may be taken in other departments, such as industrial engineering, economics, management, marketing, and public administration.

Our Cybersecurity and Networks program prepares you for these careers with a combination of practical skills and cutting-edge knowledge, leading you to success as an Information Security Analyst, Digital Forensic Examiner, Network Engineer, or System Administrator — to name just a few of your possible career titles.

There are two versions to the program. One version is for those who already hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field, while the other is for those with no prior education in these areas. Those coming to the program without this education simply complete a set of four additional bridge courses on the topics of programming and computer systems.
