In this double degree, you'll have an introduction to fundamental concepts in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, information systems and computer programming before choosing the majors that suit your interests. The Graduate Diploma of Research Studies in Science is an 80 credit point program that provides an alternative route for entry into a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program for applicants who do not possess the required qualifications for direct admission.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to apply for admission to MPhil or PhD candidature subject to fulfilment of requirements for candidature as specified in the Higher Degree Research policy and successful completion of the confirmation procedure. The grade achieved will determine entry to either a PhD or MPhil candidature.

The Program Director will be responsible for the overall supervision of the student and monitoring their progress throughout the program.

Students may choose to exit the Graduate Diploma program (after successfully completing the specified courses) with the Graduate Certificate in Research Studies in Science.

The ability to communicate in other languages and cultures will help you in almost any career you choose. When you study a language at Griffith, you will not just learn to speak and write the words, you will also study linguistics - the science, nature and function of language and how it is used in society. Understanding how languages are developed and used will help you gain a solid understanding of your chosen language.

You will apply your knowledge of linguistics and your chosen language in real world challenges including second language learning and teaching, intercultural communication, and effective use of digital technologies.

Griffith was the first university that offered a postgraduate International Business degree in the Southern Hemisphere. This degree, designed for high-achieving secondary school leavers, provides the opportunity for you to progress directly into our Doctor of Medicine

In your first year, you will be introduced to the basic sciences underpinning medical science - anatomy, chemistry, biochemistry, genes and disease, law and ethics, microbiology, physiology, and epidemiology. You will also undertake a course in "interpersonal skills" which provides you with knowledge and skills in communication and interaction with patients.

In second year, you will study these areas in greater depth and take medically focused courses in immunology, infectious disease, pharmacology, metabolism, structural biochemistry, and molecular genetics, as well as undertaking a capstone course (Integrated Medical Sciences) which integrates and applies the knowledge of basic sciences learned in your first and second years to solving clinical problems.
