This industry-accredited degree will provide you with a strong foundation of knowledge in accounting combined with business, taxation, auditing, finance and sustainability. You will learn about the current economic, legal and political influences affecting global business as well as develop critical problem solving, decision-making, communication, teamwork and technical skills.

What you'll learn

You will start with core courses in business. These will give you a solid grounding in important areas including accounting and quantitative methods for business, business law, finance, business intelligence, data analysis, economics and management.

You’ll then branch out into your accounting specialisation, learning cutting edge knowledge and skills in:

•     Financial and management accounting
•     Taxation and company law
•     Auditing
•     Sustainability accounting
•     Global and contemporary accounting issues
•     Strategic financial analysis.

The UniSA Master of Business Administration (MBA) has been designed for experienced managers and enterprising leaders. It has a strong practical focus on senior management decision-making and embeds the latest in management and leadership research.

What you'll learn
The MBA degree comprises eight compulsory core courses, three electives and a final capstone experience. The MBA academic year is divided into four study periods of 10 weeks each. Courses are delivered in the evenings over the 10-week period, or can be studied in intensive mode if you require more flexibility.

All MBA courses have an applied focus. They draw on real-life business case studies, and you are encouraged to draw on your own industry and workplace-based scenarios for assessment tasks. Courses also feature visiting industry leaders, who will lead discussions around contemporary business problems.

In your law studies you can undertake a Community Justice Project, practice advocacy and negotiation, or gain industry experience through participation in our Legal Advice Clinic or a professional placement. You’ll also be involved in mock-trials in our moot court, learning what it’s like to act as an advocate and argue a case before a judge. 

In your tourism and event management studies you will prepare for a fast-paced career in these growing industries. You’ll develop an understanding of the field from a global perspective, and study a broad range of practical, real-world issues with a chance to get involved in running events.

What you'll learn
This degree is made up of 40 courses. You will do 24 courses in law and 16 courses in tourism and event management.

Laws (Honours)
As a UniSA Law student, you’ll gain valuable skills from day one, including in reasoning, reporting, analysis, negotiation, communication and advocacy. You will also experience what it's like to argue a case and provide legal advice.

Throughout your degree you will study core courses that teach you the fundamental legal concepts that underpin the Australian legal system. Courses such as torts, contracts, criminal law and constitutional law will give you a good understanding of basic legal principles.

Our Law program also features courses that build your leadership skills, intercultural communication, project management and capacity for community engagement.

You will have the opportunity to have practical learning experiences including mooting, negotiation, and witness examination. You will also engage in a Community Justice project, high-level research or an industry placement, ensuring you’ll be prepared for legal practise upon graduation.

Tourism and Event Management
You will study core courses such as Business and Society, Management and Organisation and Marketing Principles: Trading and Exchange. You will also learn the latest in specialist areas such as:

• Marketing, service management and new technologies in tourism, events and hospitality
• Destination management 
• Policy and planning for sustainable tourism

In this degree, you will get a grounding in key business disciplines through industry and business-focused courses. Your management specialisation will give you the knowledge and skills to manage resources and projects in a global business environment. You will learn to address emerging issues, and to recognise the need for innovation as you progress in your career. You will also have the valuable opportunity to embed work integrated learning into your degree through an internship or mentorship.

The degree starts with core courses in business theory. These will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals such as international business, economics and business intelligence. You can gain valuable insight and career skills while you study with advanced career-focused electives and internships in industry.

In your management specialisation, you'll study areas such as international management ethics and values, and organisational leadership and behaviour.

This program is recognised as an approved program by Financial Adviser Standards, The Treasury¹ and will equip you with the education requirements to practise as a qualified financial adviser.

What is a financial adviser?
Financial advisers assist clients to build and manage their personal wealth, tax, financial risk and spending over their lifetimes. They consider a number of factors such as current wealth, income and lifestyle aspirations, and develop plans so their clients can reach short and long-term financial goals.

What you'll learn

You will start with core courses in areas such as analytics, accounting and economic theory. These will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals that you can apply to a range of careers.

In your specialisation you will develop your expertise across areas such as: tax; personal finance; superannuation; insurance; relevant legislations, regulations and codes of practice; as well as building and managing client relationships – a critical focus area for future financial advisers.

You will study estate planning and compulsory courses that have been outlined in Treasury's education requirements, including ethics and professionalism, and financial advice regulatory and legal obligations. In your final year, you will also develop and present a detailed statement of advice (SOA) – a comprehensive document financial advisers provide to clients based on their needs and goals.

This program is recognised as an approved program by Financial Adviser Standards, Treasury Department1 which means it provides you with the essential education requirements to practise as a qualified financial adviser after graduation.

This one-year Honours degree (or two years part-time) will introduce you to high-level research and help you develop the skills necessary to engage in rigorous research and analysis in your selected creative discipline. It can be used in preparation for postgraduate and PhD studies or research and leadership roles.

What you'll learn
You will learn skills necessary for conducting research in disciplines including Contemporary Art, Communication Design, Illustration Animation, Product Design, Cultural Studies, Film and Television, Journalism and Professional Writing, Communication and Media, Creative Writing, Social Media, Screen Studies and more. You will apply these skills to frame and develop your own research project, producing an outcome that responds to your research questions, project aims and objectives. Outcomes are visual and/or written, as appropriate for your disciplinary focus and project. Throughout your research studies you will be supervised by experienced research academics.

This Fast-track to Masters program allows you to fast-track your career by completing an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in just four years. You will be able to diversify your skill set, increase your earning potential with a more advanced qualification, and expand your career opportunities across a range of fields.

As part of this packaged program, you can:

• build your own degree by completing two minors (usually eight courses)) across a range of different study areas
• undertake a one-year international exchange with Rennes School of Business in Brittany, France.

You will be immersed in real-world challenges and have access to practical-based electives including industry internships, simulation projects and our entrepreneur-based course Startup Studio, which teaches you how to bring a business concept to life. You will also benefit from other experience-based learning opportunities, including overseas study and business mentoring. Our summer and winter schools also offer exciting study and learning opportunities.

This degree will cover core courses in business with fundamental concepts such as economics, marketing and management. You will then go on to develop specialist skills in areas such as marketing strategy, leadership and planning.

There are also eight courses that you can use to custom build your degree. For example, you could choose to do either:

• two minors (four courses each) or
• a 12-month international exchange

What you'll learn

Your undergraduate degree will begin with core courses in areas such as analytics, accounting and economic theory. These will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals that you can apply to a range of careers. You’ll then branch out into your specialisation, and learn the latest in areas such as macroeconomics, economics of public policy and analysis; portfolio and fund management; and international currency and banking markets. You can also embark on an overseas study tour, undertake an industry placement, or work on an industry-related research project.

Your postgraduate studies will provide you the opportunity to sharpen your technical ability, legal knowledge and professional expertise. Aside from learning new and relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice, you’ll also enhance your skills in building and managing client relationships – a critical focus area for future financial advisers.

With a Master of Finance you will be equipped to manage the challenges of the fast-developing global finance industry.

This degree has a strong focus on experience-based learning. You will use simulated financial markets in the Finance Trading Room to enhance your learning and engage in real world practical tasks in specialised fields in Finance. You can also choose to enhance your business consulting skills and experience through a professional business placement in Australia or overseas.

What you'll learn

The Master of Finance is made up of 16 courses in areas such as financial theory and markets, investment management, corporate finance as well as econometrics. You will also study two electives as part of your studies. One of your elective options is a 150-hour industry placement either in Australia or overseas.  The program will take 2 years full-time to be completed. If you are eligible for Advanced Standing*, it will take only 1.5 years.
