We’ll provide you with a comprehensive education encompassing sensory science, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, plant physiology and cell biology.

Your education will be enhanced by an opportunity to apply what you learn in the lecture hall with hands-on winemaking labs and viticulture field-work. Extracurricular lectures and events organized by Brock’s internationally renowned Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (brocku.ca/ccovi) connect you with leading researchers in the field. Industry experience via our co-op program (brocku.ca/co-op) will also be an essential part of your education. At least one work term will be in a vineyard setting with another at a winery during harvest time. CCOVI is the only institute of its kind in Canada.

Are you interested in how children acquire language, how the skills of second-language speakers develop, how various language disorders can be diagnosed and treated, or how social or cultural environments interact with language?

Hearing Sciences: Learn about basic science and communication processes, including the anatomy and physiology of speech and hearing, acoustics, linguistics, child language development and selected disorders of human communication. Concentrate in Hearing Sciences and learn about sound, hearing, and hearing disorders, and prepare for admission to graduate audiology programs

Recreation professionals deliver health, social, economic, and environmental benefits through leisure services.

You may choose one of the following areas of concentration:

• Community Recreation studies leisure services in diverse and changing communities, including management, community development and the needs of participants. Career opportunities exist in municipal and non-profit organizations, program development, and facility management with children, youth and seniors.
• Outdoor Recreation focuses on leadership in the natural environment. You’ll prepare to serve as a wilderness trip leader, facilitate groups in outdoor recreation settings, work in outdoor and experiential education environments, and promote social and environmental change in the world. Activities include lectures, outdoor and experiential activities, and small group work. Career opportunities exist in environmental education, outdoor adventure and leadership, K-12 classroom teaching, wilderness therapy, camp administration, ropes course facilitators and builders, and change makers.
• Therapeutic Recreation is focused on the goal of ensuring that all individuals, regardless of ability, have access to meaningful leisure in their lives. You’ll gain hands-on experience in providing services to marginalized individuals (people with disabilities and illnesses, recent immigrants, people who experience poverty and
• older adults), using leisure to improve functional abilities and quality of life. Career opportunities exist in rehabilitation centres, hospitals, mental health centres, long-term care homes, community organizations and private practices.

This program aims to equip students with a sound theoretical basis for analyzing and practicing communication within the business environment. You may study how digital technologies impact human communication in our concentration in Digital Culture. Pursue one of our collaborative programs to complete both a degree and a diploma.

We have some of the most advanced equipment in the field. While other schools often reserve the newest equipment exclusively for research, all of Brock’s facilities are used for both teaching and research.

Our commitment to hands-on learning makes our graduates, especially skilled and adept scientists. You’ll be a key partner in our research activities, participating in special research courses and paid summer research. You might even have the opportunity to co-author a publication.

Kinesiology is the scientific study of human movement. You will study the anatomy and physiology of body movement, including issues related to the maintenance, rehabilitation or enhancement of movement and performance.

Our Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKin) degree emphasizes the biophysical, behavioural and socio-cultural aspects of kinesiology, including exercise prescription and rehabilitation, fitness programming and clinical assessment. This degree trains effective health professionals who will transfer scientific theory into practice.

The Certificate in Drama in Education and Applied Theatre would be of particular interest to social workers, drama therapists, psycho-therapists, prison counsellors, people who train volunteers, personnel managers, union organizers and market consultants who wish to add to existing qualifications or to acquire courses which might later be applied to a degree. Studies include the development of skills, such as assessing and evaluating what is perceived, generating ideas, making connections, predicting outcomes, empathizing, abstracting the core from the periphery, questioning, accommodating and compromising and self-presentation. 

Our MBA (ISP) degree is an innovative program designed to meet your needs as an international student, combining an intensive Business English program with our comprehensive MBA core curriculum and flexible specializations. Your classes will be exclusively composed of your fellow international students. The Professional Masters Preparation Certificate (PMPC) is an eight-month preparation program that guides you through the challenges that you will encounter as an international student in a North American professional graduate school. We’ll help you improve your English language skills, gain confidence in academic situations and create a North American academic record. The PMPC is dedicated to helping you overcome foreseeable academic and cultural difficulties and acquire the understanding and skills to make the transition to graduate work smoother and ultimately more successful.

The PMPC is a formal certificate program. Students who successfully complete this program will receive a Brock University certificate. You will also be considered for conditional admission to either the MBA (ISP) or MPAcc (ISP) for the next intake when you apply.
