This is also in response to succession planning, a challenge that most organizations are facing these days as a quarter of the workforce, including managers, are planning retirement within the next five years.

In the program, you will take a series of carefully selected business courses that will build and enhance your skills in critical areas of management such as in accounting for non-financial managers; financial decision making; managerial economics; business ethics and corporate, social, responsibility; organizational behaviour and human resources management; managerial communications; marketing strategy; data analysis using Excel; business strategy; new venture creation; negotiation and leadership; and legal aspects of business.

Cambrian’s Global Business Management program is designed to prepare graduates from various educational and cultural backgrounds to perform managerial roles in global business organizations as well as domestic businesses who are engaged in cross-border business activities. This four-semester graduate certificate program delivers a curriculum that will give students an industry-focused skill set. The program covers all fundamental business functions, such as marketing, finance, organization behaviour, and business strategy in a global setting, to prepare graduates for general management roles in various industries across the globe. The program emphasizes leadership, critical analysis and problem solving, high-performance teamwork, business strategy, ?and managing in a cross-cultural environment.

Co-op Semester

• Students who have completed all courses with a CGPA of 2.0 or higher will be eligible for a 14-week minimum co-op.
• Students will also have an option to complete a capstone course in lieu of co-op if they choose do so.

Our Civil Engineering Technician program is focused on the design, construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation of infrastructure facilities including: roads, bridges, buildings, dams, storm/sanitary/water systems, pipelines, and deep and shallow foundations. 

You will gain practical, hands-on experience in design and drafting in our Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) laboratory. In addition, you will receive surveying training with state-of-the-art electronic survey equipment that will be interfaced with survey software. You’ll also be introduced to Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) scanning equipment and point cloud management software.

You’ll also have opportunities to enhance your skills and network with industry through opportunities to volunteer at community events or by participating in applied research projects. In this two-year diploma program, you will be training for an exciting career as a chemical technician gaining hands-on experience needed to perform your duties with the precision required in a broad range of industries.  With our campus located in Sudbury, Ontario, the mining capital of Canada, our program has a unique focus that will build your knowledge and skills in analytical, inorganic and organic chemistry, and laboratory techniques.

You will learn industry-standard lab practices through group work and independent studies, including sampling, analysis, proper use of instruments, quality assurance/quality control, and health and safety.

Learn to help vulnerable or at-risk individuals, families, and groups deal with various personal and social problems through engaging fieldwork and in-depth casework. As a Social Service Worker student, you'll learn to be an effective communicator and understanding counselor in order to encourage positive change in the lives of clients.

You will be challenged to bring a special level of maturity and motivation to your work, along with a commitment to work for social justice, a fundamental belief in the dignity and potential of people, and a desire to promote justice, equality, and access to culturally-appropriate services regardless of race, gender, age, religion, etc.

Cambrian's program is recognized by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, which allows you to apply to become a Registered Social Service Worker in Ontario when you graduate.

Fieldwork/Placement
Students who meet the requirements will have the opportunity to complete a community placement.  Students will be responsible for any expenses incurred related to placement, such as Paramed consultation, transportation, meals, and accommodations.

Agencies will require students to have additional medical and non-medical documents prior to the completion of any community-based placement.  Paramed will be responsible for the coordination of the required documentation in consultation with the students.

Required documentation includes:

• Criminal Records Check - Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Health documentation (up-to-date immunization, Two-step TB test, freedom for communicable disease)
• First Aid/CPR
• Field certifications - Bill 18 requirements

As a Developmental Services Professional, students are embarking on a rewarding career supporting children and adults experiencing life with physical disabilities, developmental and intellectual disabilities and dual diagnosis. Students will learn how to effectively use a person centered approach and positive behaviour supports to support behavioural, emotional, mental, physical and social needs. Students will also learn about the stages of human development, spectrum of disabilities, modes of communication, basic nursing and medication administration competencies and the range of community supports.

In addition, students will learn the value of working within legislative frameworks as it relates to positive behaviour supports, person centered supports, educational supports, crisis management and the constructing of a safe, respectful and quality life. Students will develop advocacy skills through relationship building and the critical thinking skills required to support individuals who live life with physical disabilities, developmental and intellectual disabilities and dual diagnosis.

Learning will be complemented by extensive hands-on experience gained through Field Placement opportunities, beginning with a Field Placement block in semester two and continuing with placements in semesters three and four.

Students will acquire the following skills from this program:

Cambrian's Chemical Engineering Technology program is the only one of its kind in Ontario and is designed to develop the skill sets you will need to work in any of these exciting fields. It couples fundamental theory with the necessary hands-on, practical laboratory training required for employment in various chemical industries and environmental sectors. You will work independently and in groups to build the self-directed study and team work skills you will need within various workplace settings.

Fieldwork/Placement
You are required to complete two co-operative work terms upon meeting the course pre-requisites. You may complete the two work placements during any of the non-academic semesters prior to graduation. These work terms provide you with the opportunity to apply classroom studies to an actual work situation.

With Cambrian's Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) accredited program, you'll prepare to challenge TSSA exams for Natural Gas Technician and Oil Burner Technician certifications. Theory and practical lab training are combined to develop a solid understanding of heating systems (natural gas, propane, and fuel oil) as well as air conditioning, refrigeration principles, sheet metal fabrication, and heat loss/heat gain design considerations. You'll also be introduced to the skills required for the installation, service, and troubleshooting of residential and light commercial heating and cooling applications.

An aging population, shorter hospital stays, and a shortage of trained PSWs makes this an in-demand healthcare job. Cambrian’s tailored personal support worker courses will prepare you to work as a PSW in just 26 weeks.(in just two semesters). In the first semester you will learn the skills that PSWs use to care for others, in our labs and in the classroom. The second semester is a preceptorship. You will work in a healthcare setting with an experienced PSW and a faculty member, who will help you to become a confident, caring, and job ready PSW.

Upon completion of the program, you will be prepared to assist clients with activities of daily living and contribute to the quality of life of individuals who live in a facility or community setting by promoting their independence, dignity, social, emotional and physical well-being.
